As an Sr. IT Subject Matter Expert III, you’ll provide full-time onsite support in a complex, mission-critical government environment, designing advanced technical strategies, advising on highly complex IT developments, and solving critical organizational challenges. What you’ll do:
- Provide full-time onsite technical support and principal-level advisory coverage at the designated Government facility.
- Serve as a top-level authority on enterprise information technology, technical strategy, complex IT development, and mission-critical problem resolution.
- Design advanced IT strategies aligned with organizational priorities, operational needs, cybersecurity requirements, service objectives, and leadership's strategic vision.
- Advise senior Government and program leaders on highly complex IT developments, technology alternatives, integration risks, resource requirements, and implementation sequencing.
- Provide expert direction across enterprise infrastructure, systems integration, platforms, cloud-connected services, applications, data dependencies, identity, cybersecurity, and IT service management.
- Analyze organizational processes, technology portfolios, service delivery models, resource utilization, and operational constraints to identify enterprise-level improvements.
- Lead or guide resolution of mission-critical IT and organizational problems when requirements are incomplete or established approaches are insufficient.
- Translate highly technical specifications, architecture decisions, tradeoffs, risks, and dependencies into clear, decision-ready language.
- Develop enterprise technical strategies, modernization roadmaps, target-state recommendations, governance approaches, operating models, and corrective-action plans.
- Coordinate across infrastructure, network, systems, cloud, cybersecurity, identity, application, data, service-management, vendor, and mission teams.
- Review major technical designs, integration approaches, engineering plans, standards, procedures, service models, and IT-related deliverables.
- Mentor senior technical personnel and SMEs, establish consistent enterprise practices, and improve documentation and knowledge transfer.
- Support planned maintenance, major releases, incident response, contingency operations, and non-standard hours when required by the mission.
What you’ll need to succeed:
- 10+ years of relevant information technology, technical strategy, organizational process, enterprise integration, or mission-support experience, including principal-level advisory, enterprise oversight, or mission-critical problem-resolution responsibilities.
- Expert knowledge of enterprise IT strategy, architecture, integration, modernization, operations, and technical governance.
- Experience guiding complex enterprise IT development or transformation across multiple technical domains.
- Demonstrated knowledge of infrastructure, systems, applications, cloud services, cybersecurity, identity, data dependencies, and IT service-management considerations.
- Experience analyzing organizational processes and improving the alignment and utilization of technology, personnel, tools, licensing, and other resources.
- Demonstrated ability to solve highly complex technical or organizational problems with significant mission, service, operational, or enterprise impact.
- Experience advising senior leaders and communicating highly technical specifications, tradeoffs, and risk in common terms.
- Ability to establish technical direction across multiple teams or workstreams and support implementation of leadership's strategic vision.
- Exceptional analytical, written communication, executive briefing, facilitation, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Bachelor's degree in a related technical, engineering, business, or mission discipline preferred; advanced degree, expert credential, or equivalent principal-level experience preferred.
SALARY RANGE: $207,000 to $312,000
The salary range for this position is determined based on qualifications, skills, and relevant experience. The final salary offered will be determined based on several factors including:
- The candidate's professional background and relevant work experience
- The specific responsibilities of the role and organizational needs
- Internal equity and alignment with current team compensation
- This role is also eligible for additional compensation, subject to the terms and policies of MetroStar, which may include:
- Performance-based bonuses
- Company-paid training and/or certifications
- Referral bonuses
