Job Description

This role requires a highly skilled and experienced Senior Micro Focus Enterprise Server Administrator who manages, configures, and optimizes mainframe application rehosting environments (COBOL, CICS, DB2, MQ and JES) on Windows/Linux/Cloud platforms, requiring 10+ years of total experience with more than 5 years of relevant experience .  The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Micro Focus administration activities such as Region management/configuration, Security/User Management, Monitoring, Troubleshooting and maintenance & Upgrades.

Roles & Responsibilities

Administration & Configuration: Manage Microfocus Enterprise Server regions, including Installation,configuration changes, user management, and security settings.
Performance & Troubleshooting: Monitor system performance (e.g., Perfmon, SCOM) and use diagnostic tools to resolve issues, including database connectivity and file corruption.
Security & Compliance: Ensure compliance with security policies and manage access.
Installation & Upgrades: Install, configure, and upgrade Micro Focus Enterprise Server and Developer products in QA and Production environments.
 

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of Micro Focus Enterprise Server, COBOL, CICS, MQ, DB2 and JES.
Develop automation scripts (e.g., Python, PowerShell, or Korn Shell) and workflows to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual maintenance tasks.
Troubleshooting & Support: Act as a high-level escalation point for complex technical issues, utilizing advanced diagnostic tools and collaborating with Micro Focus Support line when necessary.
