Our hiring partner is a fast-growing, fully bootstrapped SaaS company in the e-commerce space. They build loyalty, memberships, and cash back infrastructure exclusively for Shopify brands — helping online stores increase customer lifetime value and retention. The company is ~20 people, fully remote, and scaling quickly.

🛠️ About the Role

As a Ruby on Rails Engineer, you'll work closely with a small engineering team to build and ship features on a Shopify app used by hundreds of brands. This is not a traditional "write code from scratch" role — the team operates a modern AI-assisted engineering workflow. Agentic tools propose plans and write code based on task tickets. Your job is to deeply understand the product and codebase, review and validate AI-generated proposals, catch what doesn't make sense, and ship confidently.

What You'll Do

• Review and validate AI-generated code proposals — understand the architecture, catch edge cases, approve or redirect

• Ship features end-to-end within a Shopify app

• Triage bugs and tasks; work with agentic coding tools to resolve them

• Maintain platform stability and code quality

• Collaborate closely with engineering leadership on product direction

• Help establish engineering practices as the team grows

What We're Looking For

• Strong Ruby on Rails experience, with hands-on Shopify app development

• Comfort working in an agentic coding environment — you know how to review AI-generated code critically

• Active GitHub: you've been shipping recently and consistently

• Familiarity with AI dev tooling (Claude Code, Codex, or similar) is a plus

• Startup mindset: scrappy, collaborative, no ego

• Strong written English communication

Compensation

$5,000–$7,000 USD/month, depending on experience

Contract type: CLT (Brazilian labor regime) via Deel Employer of Record.

Salary is communicated in USD equivalent and paid in fixed BRL via Deel (Employer of Record). Your salary in BRL does not fluctuate with the exchange rate — it is set at a fixed amount in local currency, per Deel EOR compliance.
