About the team
We're building a new outbound sales team in Germany, focused on established small merchants processing EUR 15,000+ per month. It's a ground-floor team: the playbook, the territory logic, and the way we sell into upmarket SMBs are all being shaped right now. As an Account Executive, you take real ownership of a territory and help define how SumUp wins in this segment.
What you'll do
- Own the full outbound sales cycle, from prospecting to close, across a territory you manage end-to-end
- Reach established SMB merchants through cold calls, email, and social outreach, engaging owners and decision-makers directly
- Run structured discovery and consultative sessions that position SumUp's payment, POS, and kiosk solutions against real merchant needs
- Build and maintain a qualified pipeline that delivers consistent, predictable results against quota
- Shape the outbound playbook by feeding market signals, objections, and competitive insights back into Sales Enablement and Product
You'll be great for this role if…
- You bring proven outbound B2B sales experience with clear quota ownership, ideally in the SMB or upmarket SMB segment.
- You've closed full-cycle deals through cold outreach and structured pipeline building.
- You sell consultatively and can navigate more complex merchant needs to a value-based close.
- You're fluent in German (C2+) and confident in English for internal collaboration.
- You're self-driven, take ownership of your territory, and are genuinely curious about payments and small business.
