Metal Fabrication Machine Operator

Location: Cocoa Beach, FL
Job Type: Contract-to-Hire
Shift: 1st Shift
Starting Pay: From $27.00/hour (Higher pay available based on experience)

Position Overview

We are looking for a skilled Metal Fabrication Machine Operator to join a production team specializing in structural steel and miscellaneous metal fabrication. This position involves operating fabrication equipment, producing quality parts from technical drawings, and supporting a safe and efficient manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate press brakes, shears, and other metal fabrication equipment to cut and form structural steel and miscellaneous metal components.

Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and production work orders.

Measure, mark, and lay out materials using tape measures, squares, levels, and other precision measuring tools.

Verify finished parts meet dimensional and quality requirements through routine inspections.

Move raw materials and completed parts using forklifts and overhead cranes.

Keep equipment and work areas clean while following all shop safety procedures.

Qualifications

Two or more years of experience operating press brakes, shears, or similar fabrication equipment preferred.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings.

Experience working with structural steel or miscellaneous metal fabrication.

Proficient with measuring, layout, and inspection tools.

Experience operating forklifts and overhead cranes is preferred.

Strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and commitment to workplace safety.
