Job Title: Division 8 Estimator

Location: South Africa (Remote)

Working Hours: US Hours (4pm-12am SAST)

Salary: South African Rand (ZAR)

A detail oriented and experienced Division 8 Estimator is sought to join a growing team specializing in doors, frames, hardware, and locking systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate project estimates involving construction documents, coordinating with vendors and suppliers, and supporting bid submissions for commercial projects. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, construction estimating experience, and knowledge of Division 8 products and specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Review architectural drawings, specifications, and project documents for Division 8 scope requirements
• Prepare accurate cost estimates for doors, frames, hardware, and locking systems
• Perform quantity takeoffs and material calculations
• Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to obtain pricing and product information
• Analyze bid documents, addenda, and project requirements
• Prepare and submit proposals and bid packages within deadlines
• Collaborate with project managers, sales teams, and clients regarding project requirements
• Maintain organized estimating records and project documentation
• Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving solutions
• Ensure estimates align with company standards, project specifications, and industry regulations

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) highly preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of estimating experience in construction, doors and hardware, or related industry
• Knowledge of Division 8 products including doors, frames, hardware, and access control systems
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and construction specifications
• Experience with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and time management abilities
• Strong organizational and coordination skills
• Strong communication skills with contractors, vendors, and project stakeholders
• Ability to manage multiple software platforms and communicate directly with contractors throughout the estimating process
• Ability to multitask across multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines
• Capable of working across multiple product categories and workstreams, rather than focusing on a single area of estimating
• Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Experience working with commercial construction projects preferred
