About the Role
Veeam is seeking a highly technical, hands-on Director of Engineering - PrivacyOps to lead the development of our core privacy-related product suite. This leader will manage multiple cross-functional modules responsible for the end-to-end delivery of products that define the PrivacyOps category.
You will provide overarching leadership for the Securiti Product Suite. You will define the technical vision, ensure architectural consistency across all modules, and drive operational excellence for a portfolio that ncludes Cookie Consent, Assessments, DSR Fulfillment, Breach Management, and Privacy Notices. In this role, you will work in close partnership with established, senior engineering leads who manage specific products within the suite. Your focus will be on ross-team strategy, unified architectural standards, and tight collaboration with Product Management to ensure a cohesive platform experience.
What You’ll Do
- Hands-on Technical Direction: Actively participate in architectural reviews and code sessions, ensuring that our systems of engagement, automation, and record are scalable and reliable
- Engineering Innovation:
- Build an AI-first engineering practice, leveraging tools like Cursor, Copilot, and custom agents to standardize code quality, improve security, and accelerate development cycles
- Own the architecture and roadmap for a scalable, high-performance integration and connector framework that powers our privacy product suite across diverse SaaS, IaaS, and AI platforms
- Product Support:
- Represent engineering in key customer interactions
- Improve support to the customer engagement functions
- Product Delivery: Work closely with our distributed PrivacyOps leadership in driving the roadmap for critical PrivacyOps modules, including:
- DSR Automation: Implementing robotic automation to fulfill data subject requests quickly and reliably.
- Consent Lifecycle Management: Managing complex cookie consent, mobile consent and user preferences across various jurisdictions.
- Assessment Automation: Streamlining internal and vendor privacy risk assessments.
- Breach & Notice Management: Automating incident response and real-time privacy notice updates.
- Product Management Partnership: Collaborate deeply with Product Management and facilitate better interactions to align engineering execution with the overarching business strategy for the Securiti platform
- Strategic Engineering Leadership: Mentor and partner with senior engineering leads to scale the Securiti Product Suite, fostering a culture of technical excellence and cross-functional agility
What You’ll Bring
- Technical Proficiency: Proven experience with Go and/or Python, specifically for building high-concurrency, high-throughput backend systems
- Distributed Systems Expertise: Strong background in microservices, REST/GraphQL APIs, and message brokers (e.g., Kafka or RabbitMQ) for building resilient SaaS platforms
- Developer Platforms: Experience leading SDKs or integration platform development, with a focus on normalizing data and metadata for downstream compliance and security use cases
- AI-Driven Development: Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development workfl ows and the judgment to implement guardrails for team productivity
- Leadership Experience: Proven track record of managing and growing high-performing engineering teams in a fast-paced environment
- Privacy Expertise: Deep understanding of PrivacyOps philosophies and global privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA, etc.)
- Execution Mindset: Ability to balance hands-on technical contribution with strategic organizational leadership

Pay Transparency
Veeam is committed to pay transparency and equitable compensation. For this role, the compensation range below reflects the expected total target compensation (TTC), inclusive of base pay and a competitive performance-based bonus. For roles with a commission plan, the compensation range represents On Target Earnings (OTE), which includes base salary plus variable commission. When determining compensation, Veeam takes into consideration factors such as experience, education, skills, and geographic zone. Offers are typically made below the midpoint of the range.
