About the Role
We are looking for a Mid-Level Corporate Attorney to join our in-house Legal team in Brazil. This role is primarily focused on regulatory law and government affairs, providing legal support to our rapidly expanding operations across multiple municipalities.
The ideal candidate has solid experience working with public authorities and regulatory agencies, supporting administrative proceedings, licensing and permitting processes, and advising the business on regulatory risks. You will work closely with Operations, Product, Finance, and senior leadership, providing practical legal guidance that enables business growth while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice on regulatory and administrative matters affecting the company’s operations.
- Support the company in administrative proceedings before public authorities, regulatory agencies, and government entities.
- Serve as a legal point of contact for communications with governmental bodies, regulatory agencies, and municipal authorities.
- Draft and review legal documents, including notifications, legal opinions, administrative defenses, appeals, and formal submissions.
- Analyze public tenders, permits, licenses, authorizations, accreditations, and administrative agreements.
- Identify regulatory risks and propose practical legal solutions that support business objectives while ensuring compliance.
- Support the coordination of external law firms handling litigation and strategic legal matters.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory developments that may impact the company’s operations.
- Provide legal guidance to internal stakeholders on matters related to municipal regulations, public administration, and operational expansion.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support new projects, market expansion initiatives, and regulatory approvals.
- Maintain accurate legal documentation and provide clear, practical, business-oriented legal guidance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law.
- Active license to practice law in Brazil (OAB).
- 3–6 years of relevant legal experience, preferably as in-house counsel or at a law firm with a strong focus on regulatory and administrative law.
- Demonstrated experience handling administrative proceedings before public authorities and regulatory agencies.
- Strong background in regulatory law, preferably within regulated industries such as mobility, transportation, infrastructure, technology, or public services.
- Experience interacting with public authorities and governmental institutions.
- Experience supporting external counsel in litigation and strategic legal matters.
- Strong knowledge of Brazilian administrative and regulatory law.
- Excellent legal drafting, analytical, and negotiation skills.
- Highly autonomous, proactive, and business-oriented mindset.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Fluent in English and Portuguese, both written and spoken.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal research tools.
