What you’ll do

As Analyst Transportation Planning you play a crucial role in creating a stable and cost-efficient logistics supply chain for Scout Motors. You will focus on designing logistics structures and processes. This will ensure the seamless material flow for critical material from our suppliers to our plant.  

Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the all-electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following: 

  • Inbound Logistics Planning and Optimization: Analyze transportation and logistics data to support the development of logistics concepts for inbound materials from our suppliers worldwide. Assist in identifying opportunities to improve existing transportation efficiency and sustainability. Follow up on the implementation of measures and asses their effectiveness. 
  • Transportation Contract Management: Prepare, conduct, and implement logistics RFx activities. That includes writing and aligning the necessary documents like RFIs, RFQs, RFPs, and SOWs. Clear and effective communication and collaboration with internal departments as well as involved 3PLs or 4PLs. 
  • Freight Cost Auditing: Develop, align and implement processes for freight cost auditing.  
  • IT System setup: Represent the business unit and technical requirements to be implemented in the transportation management system to ensure a timely rollout of all necessary functionalities.  
  • Performance Metrics and Reporting: Develop and maintain transportation performance reports and dashboards. Analyze logistics KPIs and communicate findings to support operational decision-making. Assist in identifying opportunities for process and cost improvements. 
  • Continuous Improvement: Implement strategies for continuous improvement to enhance efficiency and compliance across all processes. 
  • Corresponding to your individual skills, you may be asked to perform appropriate tasks in logistics planning that are not explicitly included in this job posting.   

Location & Travel Expectations:

  • This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Blythewood, South Carolina.
  • This role requires 4-5 days per week in the office, with regular in-person meetings and events. 
  • Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, or a related field. An equivalent amount of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.  
  • 3+ years of proven professional experience in structuring, analyzing, and developing a multimodal transportation network solution, preferably at a North American Automotive OEM.  
  • Professional experience with IT systems for truck transport routing and scheduling as well as inventory management and reporting, preferably SAP transportation management is a plus. 
  • Practical experience leading logistics RFx activities e.g., RFIs, RFQs, RFPs, for LTL, FTL, expedited, and small-parcel transportation as well as warehousing, and crossdocking services is a must. 
  • Practical experience with freight cost auditing is a plus. 
  • Professional experience with data analytics and visualization using BI tools like PowerBI is a plus. 
  • Experience working with 3PLs, 4PLs, and dedicated/asset-based transportation and warehouse service providers as well as knowledge of U.S. DOT regulations and transportation industry is a plus. 
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and presentation skills 
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with internal and external teams  
  • Ability to independently work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously 
  • Creative, collaborative and open mindset and drive to think out of the box

Pay Transparency

This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.

Initial base salary range =  $70,000.00 - $85,000.00
