Fidus is a global high-tech design firm headquartered in Ottawa, with additional design centres in Kitchener-Waterloo and San Jose. We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accountant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and executing day-to-day accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, and handling month-end and year-end close processes. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Process accounts payable invoices, employee expense reports, and vendor payments in a timely and accurate manner
• Administer accounts receivable functions including customer invoicing, payment application, collections, and account follow-up
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies as required
• Prepare journal entries and ensure accuracy and completeness of general ledger transactions
• Prepare and complete month-end and year-end close activities, including account reconciliations and supporting schedules
• Prepare financial reports and manage audit requests and documentation

Requirements

• Completed post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field or the equivalent
• Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience in a similar role
• Experience with month-end close processes in a multi-entity environment
• Strong understanding of general accounting principles and financial processes
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
• Strong analytical skills
• Proactive problem-solver with a continuous improvement mindset
• Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Embraces AI as part of day-to-day operations to improve efficiency and output quality.
• Experience with Salesforce, ADP Workforce Now (WFN), and Certinia considered an asset

Benefits

This role is being posted to fill an existing vacancy.

Annual base salary ranges from $70,000 to $85,000. The final offer within this range takes into account the variations in knowledge, skills, experience, and market conditions, and with consideration to internal equity.

Our competitive compensation package also includes a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision plans, matching GRSP contributions, annual profit-sharing bonus, along with other supplementary benefits.
