The Shipper / Palletizer is responsible for end-of-line shipping support for completed meal orders in a refrigerated food production and fulfillment environment. This role ensures customer orders are accurately labeled, palletized, wrapped, staged, and prepared for outbound shipment while maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work area.
This is a physically active, fast-paced role that supports the final steps of the fulfillment process. The Shipper / Palletizer works at the end of the line to verify shipping labels, remove completed cases from conveyors, build and wrap pallets, move pallets with a pallet jack, stage orders for pickup, and help keep shipping lanes clear and organized. This role also uses computers and shipping software, including ProShip and other shipping systems, to process, verify, and support outbound shipments.
Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to
Understand and follow all company standards and requirements needed to correctly prepare, palletize, stage, and ship orders
Verify completed order cases have the correct shipping label applied before shipment
Scan and verify shipping labels and order information in the system as required
Use computers and shipping systems such as ProShip and other shipping software to process, verify, and support shipments
Monitor end-of-line order flow and identify shipping, label, pallet, or routing issues
Remove completed meal cases from conveyor lines
Stack cases onto the appropriate pallet following shipping, quality, and stability requirements
Wrap completed pallets manually or using palletizer/stretch wrap equipment
Move completed pallets using a manual pallet jack
Stage wrapped pallets in designated shipping lanes for forklift pickup and outbound loading
Support relabels, shipping corrections, miss-pick recovery, and other shipping support tasks needed to keep orders moving
Help manage shipping flow and recover line backups when needed
Identify order exceptions, damaged product, staged pallet issues, and similar items and promptly notify leadership
Maintain organized shipping lanes and staging areas to support on-time outbound flow
Assist with general housekeeping, including removal of pallet debris, cardboard, tape, stretch wrap, and trash from the shipping area
Use all required safety equipment and consistently follow all food safety, sanitation, and operating safety guidelines
Work effectively with other employees and company management
Perform other duties as assigned to support fulfillment operations
Required Skills and Experience
High school diploma or GED preferred
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Ability to work in a refrigerated warehouse / production environment
Ability to safely handle repetitive manual material movement in a fast-paced setting
Ability to work safely around conveyors, pallet traffic, and other production equipment
Basic computer skills and ability to learn and use shipping systems such as ProShip and other shipping/label verification software
Ability to accurately process shipping information and follow system-driven shipping procedures
Regular, dependable attendance
Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed to support the production schedule
Preferred Skills and Experience
Six months of related warehouse, fulfillment, shipping, palletizing, manufacturing, or food production experience
Experience using pallet jacks and working in a high-volume shipping environment
Experience using ProShip, UPS/FedEx shipping systems, or similar shipping software
Experience scanning labels, verifying shipping information, or staging product for outbound shipment
Forklift operator certification
Physical Requirements
Frequently stand and walk throughout the shift
Frequently bend, stoop, twist, and reach from below knee to shoulder height
Occasionally kneel, crouch, squat, or reach above shoulder height
Frequently push and pull loaded pallets using a pallet jack
Frequently lift and move product, pallets, and shipping materials in a fast-paced environment
Ability to perform repetitive movements throughout the shift
Ability to work in refrigerated temperatures and around moving equipment
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with frequent lifting of finished meal cases, shipping materials, and pallets as needed for the role
