The Opportunity
We’re looking for a VP of Finance to build and lead Sent’s finance function through our next stage of growth.
Reporting directly to the CEO, you will own financial planning, strategic finance, accounting oversight, and capital planning. You will give the leadership team a clear view of the business, help determine where we invest, and build the financial systems required to scale.
This is a hands-on role. You should be comfortable moving between company-level strategy and detailed execution, from advising on pricing and hiring to building models and improving reporting.
What You’ll Own
Financial Planning and Analysis
Own the annual budget, rolling forecasts, long-range financial model, and scenario planning
Prepare and analyze P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements
Build reporting that connects revenue and cash flow to customer usage, message volume, channel mix, carrier costs, and gross margin
Establish a consistent cadence for financial reporting, departmental reviews, and headcount planning
Track key metrics across our PLG and enterprise businesses, including growth, retention, expansion, acquisition efficiency, and contribution margin
Strategic Finance
Partner with the CEO and leadership team on pricing, hiring, product investment, partnerships, and market expansion
Develop customer, product, channel, and carrier-level profitability models
Evaluate enterprise pricing, volume commitments, contract economics, and other major investments
Partner with Sales and Growth on pipeline forecasting, acquisition economics, compensation, and resource allocation
Identify financial and operational risks early and recommend clear actions
Accounting and Financial Operations
Own the monthly and quarterly close process, working with internal and external accounting resources
Ensure accurate financial reporting, revenue recognition, billing, collections, and carrier cost accruals
Manage relationships with accountants, auditors, tax advisors, banking partners, and insurance providers
Implement scalable financial systems, internal controls, and approval processes
Maintain strong financial discipline without introducing unnecessary bureaucracy
Board, Capital, and Investor Support
Own the financial and operating analysis included in Board materials
Maintain Sent’s long-term capital plan, cash forecast, and runway scenarios
Lead financial preparation for future financings, including models, diligence, data rooms, and investor materials
Support the CEO in investor relations and financing strategy
What We’re Looking For
10+ years of experience across strategic finance, FP&A, accounting, investment banking, private equity, or related disciplines
Experience building or materially scaling the finance function at a high-growth technology company
Strong command of financial modeling, forecasting, accounting, cash management, and Board reporting
Experience with usage-based, transaction-based, infrastructure, API, fintech, payments, telecom, or similarly complex business models
Experience supporting fundraising, investor diligence, and investor relations
Strong understanding of SaaS and consumption-based metrics, including ARR, NRR, gross margin, contribution margin, CAC, and payback
Excellent judgment, communication, and analytical skills
A willingness to remain hands-on while building the team and function

Base salary: $200,000 to $240,000
