We are seeking a talented Software Engineer I to join our engineering team focused on developing software for advanced semiconductor manufacturing equipment. In this role, you will design, develop, test, and integrate software that powers high-precision industrial systems, working closely with hardware, automation, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in C#/.NET and C++ development, object-oriented programming, and industrial software development, with a passion for building reliable, high-performance software solutions.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
Software Development
- Design, develop, test, and maintain software for advanced semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
- Develop robust C# and C++ DLL interfaces that enable external applications to programmatically control equipment.
- Build intuitive operator interfaces and desktop applications using C# and .NET technologies.
- Develop reliable software modules for machine control and automation.
System Integration
- Implement hardware communication interfaces using serial communication and TCP/IP protocols.
- Integrate software with industrial hardware, controllers, and automation systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure seamless software and hardware integration.
Testing & Optimization
- Perform software testing, validation, debugging, and performance optimization.
- Analyze and resolve complex software issues through structured root cause analysis.
- Improve system reliability, scalability, and maintainability through continuous enhancements.
Customer & Product Support
- Provide post-deployment software support and technical troubleshooting.
- Assist field engineering and customer support teams in resolving software-related issues.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and customer experience.
Engineering Best Practices
- Apply Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and design patterns to build maintainable software.
- Utilize version control systems to manage source code and collaborate effectively.
- Maintain technical documentation and contribute to software development best practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 3–6 years of professional experience in C#/.NET and C++ software development.
- Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), design patterns, data structures, and algorithms.
- Hands-on experience developing DLL interfaces and desktop applications.
- Experience implementing communication protocols such as TCP/IP and serial communication.
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills.
- Good understanding of multithreading and concurrent programming concepts.
- Experience with version control systems such as GitHub or Azure DevOps.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with PLC programming concepts and industrial automation.
- Experience with C# .NET frameworks, including WinForms and WPF.
- Knowledge of semiconductor software standards such as SECS/GEM, GEM300, and industrial cybersecurity practices.
- Experience developing software for semiconductor equipment, industrial automation, healthcare, aerospace, or other high-reliability systems.
- Exposure to software-hardware integration in embedded or industrial environments.
