About the Position
We are looking for a highly motivated Security Engineer to join our Information Security team. This role is ideal for an engineer with a strong software development and cloud engineering background who is passionate about building secure systems, automating security processes, and partnering with engineering teams to strengthen application and infrastructure security.
As a Security Engineer, you will serve as the technical execution arm of the Information Security function, implementing security controls, remediating vulnerabilities, integrating security into the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), and developing security tooling and automation.
Initially, you will work closely with the Engineering team to gain knowledge of the existing security architecture and processes before transitioning into the Information Security organization.
Requirements
Skills & Responsibilities:
- Remediation engineering: implement fixes for vulnerabilities surfaced by SAST/SCA/DAST (Snyk and related), working in the codebase alongside Engineering.
- Security tooling: build, integrate, and maintain security tooling and automation; support SIEM and detection infrastructure under the SOC Lead.
- Security project delivery: execute the technical build-out for security initiatives the InfoSec Director owns (control implementations, hardening, integrations).
- SDLC integration: embed security checks into CI/CD pipelines; support secure-by-default patterns with Engineering.
- Technical assessment support: assist with the technical portions of vendor and architecture reviews.
- Detection support: help develop and tune detection rules in partnership with the SOC Lead.
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- 4–6 years of experience in Software Engineering, Security Engineering, DevSecOps, or Application Security.
- Strong programming experience in Python, Java, Go, or similar languages.
- Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and cloud security best practices.
- Experience implementing or supporting CI/CD pipelines.
- Good understanding of application security principles and secure coding practices.
- Experience working with SAST, SCA, and DAST tools (such as Snyk, SonarQube, Checkmarx, Veracode, or similar).
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar).
- Strong understanding of authentication, authorization, and identity management.
- Excellent debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with software engineering, DevOps, QA, and Product teams.
Basic Qualifications:
- Solid software/cloud engineering background (AWS), comfortable shipping code and infrastructure-as-code.
- Application security fluency: SAST/SCA/DAST tooling, vulnerability remediation, secure SDLC.
- Familiarity with detection/SIEM tooling and CI/CD security integration.
- Able to work independently across two companies' codebases and partner credibly with product engineers.
Preferred
- Detection-engineering or security-automation experience.
- Cloud security certifications; regulated-SaaS exposure.
