We are searching for a Sander for Specialty Guitars to join our team in Corona, CA. This role is responsible for sanding and semi-finishing electric guitar and bass bodies during the pre- and post-paint stages. The ideal candidate will have woodworking, carpentry, or finishing experience and a strong eye for detail to uphold Fender’s commitment to quality craftsmanship.

Essential Functions:

  • Sand electric guitar and bass bodies using a variety of sandpaper grades in circular and up/down motions.

  • Identify and correct minor surface irregularities using glue, filler, and sanding techniques.

  • Follow detailed sanding procedures to meet quality finish standards.

  • Inspect all incoming and outgoing product for flaws or defects.

  • Halt production and return bodies to the paint department if wood is exposed or if major imperfections are identified.

  • Coordinate with team members to ensure smooth workflow throughout the sanding process.

  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation in compliance with safety and quality standards.

  • Meet hourly production targets while ensuring quality control.

  • Provide feedback to supervisors on process improvements or material issues.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 1–2 years of experience in sanding, woodworking, carpentry, or a related manufacturing field preferred.

  • Experience in a production environment or finishing process strongly preferred.

  • Ability to read and follow work instructions and safety procedures.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to craftsmanship.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Ability to adhere to safety procedures, rules, and regulations at all times, and to wear personal protective equipment while on the factory floor, including, without limitation: safety glasses, gloves, earplugs, hair nets, paint suits, masks, respirators, and protective footwear.

Subject to the foregoing, the current pay scale for this position is $18.00 – $23.00 per hour.
