About the Role (Your Why)
As a Principal Consultant, you will not only lead technical delivery but also play a key role in shaping client solutions that drive business outcomes and support pre-sales engagements.
You will be asked to design, implement and own the delivery of robust Data Platform solutions and end-to-end components. This is a client focused role, so you'll need to be an excellent communicator and good with people. The Principal Consultant works closely with practice leads, project managers, and client stakeholders and teams.
The Data and AI team are a progressive group of diverse and creative individuals with a deep love for all things data related. They build platforms and solutions that are leading edge and at the forefront of the technology curve. A close knit and fun team embedded within our rapidly growing Professional Services division, and part of the wider Datacom ecosystem.
What You’ll Do
· Collaborate with sales and account teams to shape proposals and solution designs during pre-sales engagements.
· Lead client presentations and solution walkthroughs to articulate value and differentiation.
· Identify opportunities for upselling and expanding service offerings within existing accounts.
· Facilitate stakeholder workshops to gather and clarify business requirements
· Lead the technical architecture, design and delivery for new Modern Data Platform solutions.
· Provide overall thought leadership to our clients regarding data analytics and integration recommendations.
· Provide thought leadership around the effective us of AI in the data platform landscape.
· Perform performance tuning/optimisation, and feature audits on data platform solutions.
· Provide detailed documentation, end user training and knowledge-transfer services to clients, and internal teams.
· Mentor developers, acting as an SME in data platform/warehouse architectures and data modelling
What You’ll Bring
· Proven ability to engage with senior stakeholders and influence buying decisions.
· Experience in pre-sales solutioning, proposal development, and client presentations.
· Commercial acumen and ability to align technical solutions with business value.
· Strong consultation and client management skills.
· Advanced skills and a proven track-record of building data solutions in cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS & GCP
· Advanced skills in data platforms such Fabric, Snowflake and Databricks
· Advanced ETL/ELT process design and implementation with tools such as Synapse Analytics, Fabric Data Factory, Snowflake, Coalesce, Fivetran, Matillion, dbt and AWS Glue
· Advanced data modelling skills across conceptual, logical and physical modes based on techniques such as ER, Dimensional, Object-Oriented, NoSQL and Data Vault
· Advanced skills and real-world experience with based Python development in modern data platforms
· Experience using Informatica IDMC or on-prem solutions
Experience and Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline
· Minimum 8+ years’ experience in EDW design and implementation.
· Minimum 8+ years’ experience in ETL architecting and design.
· Minimum 8+ years’ experience in data modelling
· Minimum 5+ years’ experience in semantic layer development.
· Minimum 3+ years’ experience in Power BI architectures
· Minimum 3+ years’ experience in pre-sales solutioning, commercial proposal development, and client solution presentations
