Sobre este puesto de Pharmacy Team Lead en Montu UK
What is the job?
Ready to take the next step in your pharmacy career and make a real impact within a rapidly growing, patient-focused organisation?
We’re looking for an experienced and enthusiastic pharmacy professional to join us as a Pharmacy Team Lead. This is an exciting opportunity to step into a key leadership role, supporting, motivating and developing a high-performing pharmacy team across both weekday and weekend shifts.
As Pharmacy Team Lead, you’ll be right at the heart of our day-to-day pharmacy operations. This is a hands-on role where no two days will be the same - you’ll help coordinate shifts, manage changing priorities, resolve operational challenges and provide clear, confident guidance to colleagues. You’ll play an important part in creating a positive and supportive working environment where the team can perform at its best and our patients continue to receive a safe, accurate and exceptional service.
You’ll act as a visible and approachable point of leadership on shift, ensuring workloads are managed effectively, standards are consistently maintained and any issues are identified and addressed quickly. You’ll also support the development of your colleagues through regular feedback, coaching and encouragement, helping them build their confidence, strengthen their skills and take pride in the service they provide.
Working closely with the Pharmacy Manager and wider Pharmacy Operations team, you’ll help drive continuous improvement across the pharmacy. Whether it’s finding better ways of working, improving efficiency, strengthening communication or supporting the implementation of new processes, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute ideas and make a genuine difference to how we operate.
This role would be perfect for someone who thrives in a busy pharmacy environment, enjoys bringing people together and is ready to take greater ownership and responsibility. You’ll need to be organised, proactive and calm under pressure, with the confidence to make decisions, support colleagues and maintain excellent standards of patient care, safety, compliance and accuracy.
If you’re passionate about pharmacy, excited by the opportunity to lead others and ready to play an important part in the continued growth of our pharmacy operations, we’d love to hear from you.
What will you be doing?
Providing visible, hands-on leadership to the pharmacy team during your shifts, helping to create a positive, supportive and collaborative working environment
Coordinating daily priorities, allocating tasks and managing workloads to ensure pharmacy operations run safely, efficiently and smoothly
Acting as an approachable first point of contact for colleagues, providing guidance, support and encouragement throughout the working day
Monitoring progress against daily priorities and responding quickly to changing demands, operational challenges or staffing requirements
Supporting the team to maintain safe, accurate and compliant working practices in line with standard operating procedures, internal policies and regulatory requirements
Helping to maintain consistently high standards across dispensing, stock management, record keeping and other key pharmacy processes
Identifying and escalating quality, safety or operational concerns appropriately, ensuring issues are followed through to resolution
Working closely with the Pharmacy Manager, Pharmacy Operations and wider teams to resolve queries, improve communication and strengthen ways of working
Coaching and developing colleagues through regular feedback, practical support and on-the-job guidance to build their confidence, skills and capability
Supporting the onboarding and training of new team members, helping them settle into the pharmacy and understand our expected standards
Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, strengthen safety and enhance the overall patient experience
Supporting the introduction of new processes, systems and operational improvements across the pharmacy
Leading by example in everything you do and helping the team deliver a safe, accurate, efficient and exceptional service to every patient
What do you need?
Experience working in a pharmacy, healthcare or similarly regulated operational environment
Previous experience supervising, supporting or coordinating a team, ideally within a busy customer or patient-facing setting
A good understanding of operational workflows, quality standards and the importance of working within clear policies and procedures
The confidence to make decisions, resolve day-to-day challenges and take ownership of issues through to completion
Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and keep operations running smoothly during busy periods
Excellent attention to detail and a consistent commitment to safety, accuracy and high-quality service
Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships across different teams
A supportive and approachable leadership style, with a genuine interest in motivating and developing others
A calm, proactive and solutions-focused approach in a fast-paced and changing environment
Confidence using computer-based systems, with the ability to learn new tools and processes quickly
Flexibility to work across weekday and weekend shifts as part of the pharmacy rota
A patient-first mindset and a genuine passion for delivering an exceptional standard of care and service
Previous pharmacy experience would be highly beneficial, particularly in a Pharmacy Assistant, Pharmacy Dispenser, Accuracy Checking Technician or similar role. However, we would also welcome applications from experienced team leaders working in other regulated healthcare or operational environments who can demonstrate strong transferable skills and an eagerness to develop their pharmacy knowledge.
Most importantly, you’ll be someone who is ready to step up, get involved and help create a successful shift for both the team and our patients.
