Position Summary
The Coordinator, Technical Media Operations supports the design, development, and day-to-day advancement of media supply chain workflows at NFL Films. This role contributes to the implementation and support of workflow orchestration, transcoding, media movement, and media asset management initiatives that enable efficient handling of digital content from ingest through delivery and archive. Working closely with Media Management and cross-functional technical teams, the Coordinator helps evaluate workflow requirements, document processes, troubleshoot issues, and support integration efforts across multiple software platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development, testing, and refinement of media supply chain workflows across ingest, transcode, QC, file movement, metadata handling, delivery, and archive.
- Assist with workflow orchestration using Pulse-IT and related automation platforms to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
- Support Vantage transcode workflows, including job configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and validation of output media.
- Contribute to the integration and ongoing support of a new Media Asset Management system, including workflow mapping, metadata considerations, and system interoperability.
- Document technical workflows, operational procedures, and configuration updates in a clear and maintainable manner.
- Partner with Media Management, Engineering, Post Production, and other stakeholders to gather requirements, identify workflow gaps, and recommend process improvements.
- Assist in troubleshooting workflow failures, system exceptions, and handoff issues between software platforms.
- Develop foundational technical skills in Python scripting to support automation, data handling, and workflow-related tasks.
- Build an understanding of API calls and data exchange between different software solutions used in the media ecosystem.
- Participate in testing, validation, and user acceptance activities for new workflow components, integrations, and system enhancements.
- Maintain accuracy, consistency, and reliability in technical operations supporting media movement and asset lifecycle management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in media operations, broadcast technology, information systems, computer science, film/media production, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in media operations, broadcast technology, post-production, technical operations, or workflow support.
- Strong understanding of file-based media workflows, codecs, wrappers, metadata, and transcoding concepts.
- Professional experience using Vantage transcode software and administering media workflow orchestration tools.
- Experience supporting or engineering MAM systems, including metadata, integrations, user workflows, and asset lifecycle processes.
- Ability to diagnose complex workflow issues across MAM, orchestration, transcoding, storage, metadata, and delivery systems.
- Ability to present clear, actionable solutions to technical and operational stakeholders.
- Basic understanding of Python, APIs, and system-to-system communication for workflow support and automation.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and process consistency.
- Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production and operations environment.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in media workflow environments supporting content ingest, transformation, and delivery.
- Exposure to media automation, orchestration tools, or workflow engines.
- Working knowledge of media asset management concepts and digital media lifecycle processes.
- Basic scripting or coding experience in Python and JavaScript, with a willingness to expand and explore expertise in this area.
- Familiarity with troubleshooting technical handoffs between applications, services, and storage environments.
- Ability to create clear process documentation and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
Work Schedule and Reporting Structure
This is a part-time regular position scheduled for 30 hours per week. The Coordinator, Technical Media Operations reports directly to the Sr. Director, Media Administration and works closely with internal partners supporting technical media workflows and systems integration initiatives.
