Location: Delhi/NCR, India
Salary: INR 32 lakhs to 42 lakhs p.a. full time equivalent, dependent on experience
Basis: Permanent; full-time, part-time or flexible
Eligibility: You must be eligible to work in India

The role

We are looking to appoint an experienced leader to grow the reach and impact of Code Club across India.

Code Club is the world's largest movement of free computing clubs where young people aged 9-16 years old develop the skills and confidence to create with digital technologies. Code Clubs are run by teachers, educators, and volunteers from all walks of life and take place in schools and community settings, like libraries and maker spaces.

We already support a network of 2500 Code Clubs in schools and communities all over India and we are building new partnerships that will see Code Clubs being set up as part of the networks of Atal Tinkering Labs in Odisha, Kerala, and beyond.

As National Programme Manager you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies for growing and sustaining the network of Code Clubs in India, including through creating strategic partnerships with a wide range of organisations.

You will also play a critical role in ensuring that Code Club makes a real impact on young people, including through recruiting and training mentors, gathering feedback and data, and identifying and sharing good practices.

You will also lead the delivery of Coolest Projects in India, providing a platform for young people from Code Clubs to share the projects they build so that they can learn from and inspire each other.

We are looking for an experienced leader with a deep understanding of the Indian education system, both schools and non-formal settings. You should have a proven track record of leading large scale national educational or volunteer-driven programs, as well as developing and managing strategic partnerships. You don’t need to be an expert in computer science or coding, but you do need to bring a passion for our mission and a willingness to learn.

We work hard to make sure that the Foundation is a place where everyone is supported to do the best work of their careers. We have a flexible and collaborative approach to all aspects of our work. If you're the right person for the job, we’ll make it work for you, and you can be confident that you’ll be joining an exceptional team of people who care about our mission and each other

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies to grow the network of Code Clubs in India, supporting the sustainability of existing clubs and the successful launch of new ones.
  • Identify, develop, and manage strategic partnerships to increase the reach and impact of Code Clubs.
  • Improve the quality of the learning experience at Code Clubs in India including through designing and organising high quality mentor training.
  • Develop and implement strategies to recruit and support volunteer mentors, working with industry and other partners.
  • Ensure that Code Club particularly benefits young people who experience educational disadvantage and those who come from backgrounds that are traditionally underrepresented in the tech sector.
  • Lead the delivery of Coolest Projects online and face to face showcases in India.
  • Use monitoring and evaluation plans and data insight to ensure outcomes for young people and mentors are met and identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure all Code Clubs and partners understand and follow our safeguarding policies and practices.
  • Build and lead a high-performing team, providing the clarity, support, and resources they need to do great work.
  • Work with fundraising advisors to develop and deliver proposals and pitches and develop and sustain relationships with funding partners.
  • Manage budgets effectively.
  • Represent the Raspberry Pi Foundation to external audiences, including writing blog posts and magazine articles, attending outreach events, and leading workshops as and when required.

Experience and personal attributes

We recognise that everyone has the potential for growth, and we welcome applications from candidates who can demonstrate that they have some, but not all, of the experience and personal attributes listed here.

  • Proven experience in leading and scaling large-scale educational or volunteer-driven programs in India.
  • Demonstrated success in building and managing strategic partnerships with educational institutions, nonprofits, and industry to drive program growth and impact.
  • Experience in designing and delivering high quality training and non-formal learning experiences.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in the STEM field (preferable)
  • A deep understanding of the Indian education system, with experience of working with schools, teachers, and youth-serving community organizations.
  • Experience of managing a team, with a collaborative and supportive approach to leadership and the ability to plan and manage resource allocation effectively across multiple projects and priorities.
  • Good data and analytical skills, and the ability to use data effectively to improve what we do. Ideally you will have experience of working with Salesforce, but if not we can support you with training.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to inspire and engage diverse audiences.
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and a collaborative approach to working with colleagues and external partners.
  • A strong alignment with the Foundation’s mission and values, particularly around educational equity and access.
  • The ability to extensively travel within India.

Sobre Raspberry Pi Foundation

The Raspberry Pi Foundation is a UK-based educational charity with the mission to enable young people to realise their full potential through the power of computing and digital technologies.

Established in 2008 and first known for our product — the wildly successful Raspberry Pi computer — the Foundation has developed education programmes, learning experiences, and products that are helping millions of young people learn vital new knowledge and skills.

Through Code Club, we support the world’s largest network of free informal computing clubs for young people. Tens of thousands of educators have taken our online courses, and millions of people use our free online learning resources. To deepen our understanding of how young people learn about computing and how to create with digital technologies, we conduct academic research, and we use that knowledge to increase the impact of our work and advance the field of computing education.

Across all of our work, we work hard to engage young people who come from backgrounds that are traditionally underrepresented in the field of computing or who experience educational disadvantage. We work all over the world, with teams based in the UK, Ireland, North America, and India, and partnerships with mission-aligned organisations in over 40 countries. You can learn more about us on our careers page.

We are at the forefront of the global movement to help young people learn about computing and digital making. You can read more about our mission, values, and goals in our Annual Review 2023 and our Strategy 2022–2025.
