About Us

Harmattan AI is a next-generation defense prime building autonomous and scalable defense systems. Following the close of a $200M Series B, valuing the company at $1.4 billion, we are expanding our teams and capabilities to deliver mission-critical systems to allied forces.

Our work is guided by clear values: building technologies with real-world impact, pursuing excellence in everything we do, setting ambitious goals, and taking on the hardest technical challenges. We operate in a demanding environment where rigor, ownership, and execution are expected.

About the Role

The Local IT Support & Maintenance Technician ensures the day-to-day availability, reliability, and proper functioning of the IT equipment used on the production lines. The role acts as the first point of contact for production floor users regarding IT-related needs and incidents, performs first-level maintenance and executes clearly guided operations.

The position does not carry design, configuration, or administration authority over IT infrastructure, but an evolution will be considered based on the skills and motivation of the technician.

Responsibilities

Local User Interface – Needs and Incident Collection

  • Serve as the on-site point of contact for production line operators and supervisors for any IT-related question, request, or malfunction.

  • Perform first-level diagnosis to determine whether an incident can be resolved locally or must be escalated to Level 2/3 support.

Supply and Installation of IT and OT equipment

  • Receive, inventory, and prepare IT and OT peripherals and devices (workstations, IPC, screens, keyboards, mice, etc.) for deployment on the production line.

  • Configure, Install and physically connect IT and OT equipment according to the standard installation procedures

  • Maintain accurate inventory records of deployed and spare peripherals

Repair of PCs According to Defined Procedures

  • Perform first-level hardware troubleshooting and repair on production-line workstations and industrial PCs

  • Reimage or restore workstations from validated master images or recovery procedures.

  • Escalate any repair falling outside the scope of the defined procedures, or requiring configuration changes, to Level 2 support.

  • Document every action performed, report recurring issues or patterns to the IT Manager to support root-cause analysis and continuous improvement.

Guided Network Operations

  • Execute guided physical network operations under instruction from the IT department, such as disconnecting and reconnecting network cables, checking port status, or power-cycling network equipment.

  • Verify link status (link lights, basic connectivity) after intervention and report results to the IT department.

User Account Creation and Deletion

  • Create and deactivate user accounts in the designated systems (directory, business applications, badge/access systems where applicable, MES/ERP).

Candidate Requirements

Education and Experience

  • Vocational or technical diploma in IT, electronics, or a related field (e.g., BTS/DUT Informatique or equivalent), or equivalent hands-on experience.

  • Prior experience in IT hardware support, helpdesk, or industrial environment maintenance is an asset.

Technical Skills

  • Basic knowledge of PC hardware components and ability to follow structured repair procedures.

  • Basic understanding of network cabling and connectivity concepts (Ethernet, patch panels, switches) sufficient to perform guided physical operations.

  • Familiarity with ticketing tools and basic office/directory administration (account creation forms, standard templates).

  • Ability to read and strictly follow technical procedures, checklists, and safety instructions.

Behavioral Skills

  • A strong service-oriented mindset to help users.

  • Sense of rigor, discipline, and respect for defined procedures — particularly important given the sensitivity of the manufacturing environment.

  • Good communication skills in English and French to interact clearly with production floor users of varying technical familiarity.

  • Reliability, punctuality, and ability to work autonomously

  • Awareness of confidentiality and information security requirements applicable to the site.

This position is based on the production floor of the manufacturing site, with regular movement between workstations. It requires adherence to plant safety rules (personal protective equipment, restricted areas).

Working hours are aligned with production shifts; occasional flexibility may be required to minimize production downtime.

We look forward to hearing how you can help shape the future of autonomous defense systems at Harmattan AI.
