About the Role
We're supporting a large-scale medical training mission and seeking two experienced Instructional Systems Designers to plan, design, execute, and validate instructional systems across a range of allied health and medical specialties. You'll build the formal training and curriculum that prepares medical professionals to perform across diverse operational environments.
You'll work both independently and collaboratively across teams of varying sizes, ensuring training objectives are met and instructors are fully equipped to deliver curriculum in both synchronous and asynchronous formats.
Compensation: Starting at $60,000 - Negotiable based on Experience
What You'll Do
- Apply the ADDIE model (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, Evaluate) to design and refine medical and occupational training programs
- Develop, validate, and sustain curriculum and instructional materials across multiple medical and allied health specialties
- Design learning strategies spanning synchronous, asynchronous, blended, and social learning modalities
- Conduct occupational survey data collection and analysis to inform instructional design
- Develop written and performance assessments; determine reliability and validity of evaluation instruments
- Produce technical writing and course documentation, and manage scheduling processes
- Partner with instructors and training managers across all personnel levels to meet training objectives
- Analyze training challenges and develop timely, effective solutions
Requirements
Required:
- Bachelor's degree or higher with coursework in at least four of these five areas:
- Learning theory / psychology of learning / educational psychology
- Instructional design practices
- Educational evaluation
- Instructional product development
- Computers in education and training
- Working knowledge of the administration, techniques, and evaluation of training studies and projects
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across diverse teams
- Ability to establish program objectives and assess progress toward them
Preferred:
- Prior experience designing curriculum in a military, medical, or allied health training environment
- Familiarity with DoD instructional systems design standards and interactive courseware
- Experience with LMS platforms and course management systems
