About the role:
This role will be at the forefront of the Company’s fraud prevention efforts working effectively to identify anomalies, prioritize initiatives, and develop scalable solutions.
Part of this role is also to facilitate the Company’s growth by scaling internal processes and focus on continuous optimization and automation.
Responsibilities:
Monitor real-time payment transactions and merchant activity to detect suspicious behaviour.
Investigate fraud alerts from detection through resolution.
Configure, maintain, and optimize fraud prevention rules and monitoring thresholds.
Analyze transaction data to identify fraud trends and emerging attack patterns.
Detect fraud typologies including:
Card testing
Account takeover (ATO)
Merchant laundering
Payment fraud
Produce fraud analysis and trend reports using large datasets.
Collaborate with Risk, Compliance, Operations, and Product teams to improve fraud prevention strategies.
Ensure compliance with Visa and Mastercard fraud monitoring programs.
Continuously improve fraud detection processes and controls.
Requirements:
Experience
2+ years in Fraud Prevention, Fraud Analytics, or Anti-Fraud within payments, acquiring, fintech, or banking.
Experience with transaction monitoring and fraud investigations.
Technical Skills
Experience with fraud monitoring systems and rule management.
Strong analytical skills and advanced Excel.
Ability to analyze payment transaction data and identify fraud patterns.
Industry Knowledge
Understanding of payment acquiring and card schemes.
Knowledge of Visa/Mastercard fraud monitoring programs (e.g., VFMP).
