Ataraxis is a clinical AI research lab working at the intersection of multi-modal AI and precision medicine. Our goal is to make disease predictable. To accomplish this, we develop new AI methods that predict patient outcomes and treatment response, and build clinical tools to assist physicians in selecting the most optimal treatments for their patients.

Our AI research lab discovers and develops methods to recognize patterns and predict outcomes across complex, multi-modal clinical data. This spans our causality (Ataraxis™ Tau), foundation model (Falcon and Kestrel for digital pathology), and survival analysis research.

Our first clinical products, such as Ataraxis™ Breast for breast cancer, already help patients get the most appropriate treatment across the best academic institutions and community clinics worldwide.

Responsibilities

You will lead expansion of Ataraxis’s offerings to one of the next cancer types and disease areas beyond breast cancer. Ataraxis has already developed a pan-cancer AI platform that has been internally validated to perform well across various tumor types. This role will work on creating the right environment for the commercial launch in the next cancer type(s). In that process, you will:

• Develop and manage a network of relationships with key opinion leaders, clinical advisors, early adopters, and research collaborators to identify potential customers and partners as well as validate hypotheses and gather insights

• Develop internal knowledge (memos, draft collateral material) in preparation for medical affairs/sales teams in the future

• Work directly with the CEO to execute on product launches in record speed

• Source real-world datasets, clinical trial datasets, and biobank resources to support AI model development and evaluation

• Partner with engineering and research teams to inform clinical-grade model development

Qualifications

• PhD, MD, or a Master’s degree in cancer biology, molecular biology, cell biology, biomedical sciences, pharmacology, pharmaceutical sciences, or a related life sciences field. You need to be able to very quickly learn about new disease areas in depth independently

• Strong soft skills and being able to speak to various audiences, from medical key opinion leaders to software engineers. Ideally, you should have experience presenting scientific content to medical/academic audiences

• Good sense/taste for product, creative thinking, being able to apply modern product building frameworks to healthcare

• Bias for action, ability to form independent thought on complex topics where you don't have a lot of information and will have to trust your intuition, thinking from first principles

• Strongly preferred: 2+ years of industry experience (e.g.,: biotech, pharma, diagnostics, healthcare strategy, management consulting, or finance)
