We are looking for a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Data Protection Consultant with 2–10 years of experience to help organizations establish, implement, and enhance privacy and data protection programs. In this role, you will work closely with business, legal, security, and technology teams to ensure compliance with global data privacy regulations while enabling secure and responsible data usage across the organization.

The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of privacy frameworks, data governance principles, regulatory compliance, and risk management. You will be responsible for advising stakeholders on privacy best practices, conducting privacy assessments, supporting compliance initiatives, and helping build privacy-by-design practices into business processes and technology solutions.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain data protection and privacy compliance programs.
  • Interpret and apply global privacy regulations, including GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and other applicable data protection laws.
  • Conduct Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) and Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) for business initiatives and technology projects.
  • Review business processes to identify privacy risks and recommend effective mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with legal, information security, compliance, engineering, and business teams to ensure privacy requirements are integrated into products and operations.
  • Support the creation, maintenance, and review of privacy policies, standards, procedures, and documentation.
  • Monitor evolving privacy regulations and advise stakeholders on their potential business impact.
  • Assist in managing data subject rights requests, consent management, data retention, and data lifecycle governance.
  • Participate in vendor and third-party privacy assessments to ensure compliance with organizational standards.
  • Support audits, regulatory inquiries, and internal compliance reviews related to data privacy.
  • Deliver privacy awareness sessions and training programs to improve organizational understanding of data protection obligations.
  • Contribute to incident response activities involving personal data breaches and assist with regulatory reporting where required.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Law, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
  • 2–10 years of professional experience in data privacy, information security, governance, risk, compliance, or related domains.
  • Strong understanding of global privacy regulations and industry best practices.
  • Experience conducting privacy assessments, compliance reviews, and risk assessments.
  • Familiarity with data governance, information lifecycle management, and privacy-by-design principles.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with technical and non-technical teams in a fast-paced environment.

Good-to-Have Skills

  • Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) certification.
  • Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) certification.
  • Certified Information Privacy Technologist (CIPT) certification.
  • Experience working with ISO 27701, ISO 27001, NIST Privacy Framework, or similar standards.
  • Knowledge of cloud security and privacy considerations across AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Familiarity with privacy management platforms, data discovery tools, and consent management solutions.
  • Exposure to AI governance, cross-border data transfers, and emerging privacy technologies.
  • Experience supporting multinational privacy compliance initiatives.
