Sobre este puesto de Cybersecurity Engineer en CPI Security
CPI Security is looking to hire a Cybersecurity Engineer to join our IT Operations and Security team based in Charlotte, North Carolina. At CPI Security, we help families and businesses protect what matters most through customized security, smart home technology, and award-winning service. Founded in Charlotte in 1991, CPI has grown into the 8th largest security provider in the U.S., according to the 2026 SDM 100 rankings, while staying true to our local roots and community-focused culture. As one of the few providers that designs, installs, monitors, and services its own systems, CPI offers employees the opportunity to work with innovative technology, serve customers with care, and make a real impact in the communities we call home.
The Cybersecurity Engineer will help own security operations across detection, investigation, incident response, remediation, and continuous improvement. This is not a monitoring-only role. This role is 100% on-site, in-office, at our South Charlotte company headquarters.

- Assist with incident response and root-cause analysis.
- Tune security alerts, improve detection accuracy, and reduce false positives.
- Support vulnerability remediation, system hardening, and security control improvements.
- Administer and secure on-premises Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID.
- Investigate identity, endpoint, server, network, email, and cloud security issues.
- Partner with infrastructure teams to address security risks and technical weaknesses.
- Identify opportunities to improve or automate security processes.
- Document findings and communicate risks to technical teams and leadership.
What We’re Looking For:
- Required career progression from Help Desk or technical support to Systems Administrator or Systems Engineer.
- At least three years of experience in systems administration or systems engineering, including one to two years of cybersecurity experience.
- Experience with on-premises Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Windows systems, Microsoft 365, and hybrid environments.
- Knowledge of incident response, vulnerability management, identity security, system hardening, and security monitoring.
- Understanding of network security, including firewalls, VPNs, DNS, and segmentation.
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- PowerShell, Python, or similar automation experience.
- Azure or AWS security experience.
- Exposure to security automation, SOAR workflows, or detection engineering.
- Interest in AI-driven security capabilities and emerging security operations technologies.
What We Offer
