We are looking for a COTS Solution Architect to evaluate, select, and integrate Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) solutions that meet business, technical, regulatory, and compliance requirements. In this role, you will design solution architectures and integration strategies, ensure alignment with enterprise architecture and organizational standards, provide technical guidance throughout implementation, and collaborate with vendors, stakeholders, and technical teams to deliver secure, scalable, and compliant COTS solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborating with stakeholders and business analysts to understand technical and other requirements, constraints, and objectives related to COTS solution.
- Conducting analysis and evaluating available COTS solutions, considering factors such as scalability, interoperability, security, cost-effectiveness, integration ability, extensibility etc.
- Designing the overall architecture and integration strategy for selected COTS solutions, ensuring alignment with existing systems, scalability, performance, and security requirements.
- Providing technical expertise and guidance during the selection and implementation process, including deployment strategies, integration, and configuration of COTS solutions.
- Collaborating with COTS vendors to understand product characteristics, configuration, and installation options, contribute to contract preparation.
- Assessing and mitigating risks associated with COTS solutions, including technical compatibility, data migration, vendor reliability, and security vulnerabilities.
- Documenting architectural designs, technical specifications, implementation guidelines, and best practices for reference and knowledge sharing within the organization.
- Ensuring the quality and reliability of implemented solutions through overseeing testing, validation, and adherence to industry best practices and standards.
- Communicating effectively with stakeholders, including business users, project managers, business analysts, technical teams, and vendors, to ensure alignment of expectations and successful adoption of COTS solutions.
- Monitoring industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to COTS solutions, and continuously refine architectural designs and implementation strategies to optimize business outcomes.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of work experience relevant to the domain of the lot.
- Proficiency in evaluating COTS solutions based on technical criteria such as scalability, interoperability, security, and performance.
- Strong understanding of software architecture principles and the ability to design integration strategies for COTS solutions within existing IT ecosystems.
- Familiarity with industry-standard methodologies for software selection, acquisition, and implementation, including requirements gathering and solution evaluation.
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and provide guidance to technical teams during the implementation and integration of COTS solutions.
- Continual learning and staying updated on emerging technologies, best practices, and trends in COTS solution selection, acquisition, and implementation.
- Proven experience in conducting feasibility studies and assessing technical risks associated with COTS solutions, including data migration and system compatibility.
- Working experience in assisting in contracts preparation, pricing, and service level agreements with COTS vendors, while considering technical requirements and constraints.
- A track record in implementing and configuring COTS solutions, including integration and deployment within complex IT environments.
- Proven experience in documenting technical specifications, architectural designs, and implementation plans for COTS solutions.
- English at C.1 level and preferably French at B.2 level.
