  • Media relations: Write, edit and distribute media releases and statements to a high standard, build and manage relationships with media and public opinion leaders, and own the media contacts database and monitoring system.
  • Internal communications & culture: Lead TEG's internal communications program with the People team, using storytelling, recognition, events and campaigns to keep our people informed, engaged and connected to TEG's strategy and wins.
  • Brand & PR alignment: Partner with PR, brand, marketing and social teams to protect and elevate TEG's external brand image, ensuring consistent tone, message and identity across owned, earned and social channels.
  • Issues management: Identify and manage issues, develop holding positions and response plans, and own the issues response plan and support the SLT in the event of an issue.

Capabilities you will bring:

  • Communications experience: 7-10+ years across internal and external communications, ideally with a mix of in-house and agency experience.
  • A trusted voice: Outstanding writing, presentation and communication skills, with the credibility to be a respected spokesperson and relationship builder.
  • PR and issues expertise: Proven consumer PR experience and a track record managing issues, working with external agencies, and placing media releases through strong media relationships.
  • Culture builder: Experience building internal engagement and culture through channels, content, campaigns and events.
  • Stakeholder savvy: Strong internal and external stakeholder management skills, including experience engaging government stakeholders, backed by sharp analytical and organisational skills.
