Job Summary:
The Apprentice Electrician, under the direction of the Master Electrician, is responsible for the installation, start-up, troubleshooting, commissioning, and servicing of industrial / commercial electrical equipment and systems. This position will be responsible for following the directions of the Journeyman Electrician to complete electrical maintenance and repair work.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- The Electrician Apprentice will assist the Electrician with basic tasks.
- Complete Maintenance work orders on electrical equipment. Testing malfunctioning equipment, identifying defects, troubleshooting, repairing equipment and replacing defective parts.
- Collaborate with other electrical staff to identify and resolve problems.
- Keep personal equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and calling for repairs.
- Document service and installation actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications.
Minimum Qualifications
Required:
- 2-4 years of electrical apprenticeship preferred.
- Demonstrate knowledge of electrical codes.
- Possessing the ability to understand schematics and technical manuals.
- Must be reliable and have excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Must be willing to submit to pre-employment screening, including criminal background check and drug screen.
- Basic computer knowledge is required.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.

Work Environment:
- Outdoor industrial sites with exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, extreme weather, uneven terrain, or other environmental factors.
- Fabrication shops with exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, or other environmental factors.
This role requires compliance with all applicable safety regulations, personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, and Loenbro's Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) policies.
Physical Demands:
- Climbing up and down stairs and ladders to get in and out of trenches and up to elevated platforms (scaffolding at significant heights).
- Lifting necessary equipment and materials 1-50 pounds, 50% of the time monthly for required tasks.
- Walking on uneven terrain, with an average of two miles per day.
- Ability to frequently stand, sit, stoop, crawl, and kneel.
- Use of respirator if position requires.
