Location and Flexibility

Our interns are integral parts of our teams at TELUS Digital. Our office culture is designed to foster in-person innovation, collaboration, and connection with team members, local and visiting, from other global offices. In order to help retain this culture, this role will maintain an in-office presence in a hybrid capacity from our office in Buenos Aires (1 to 2 times/ week).

The Opportunity

As an AI Intern at TELUS Digital, you’ll impact our organization by working alongside a passionate team and learning and developing your love for application development. Our internship program gives current students the chance to make an impact, all while receiving one-on-one mentoring from our full-time team members to ensure you are advancing in your craft. Not only that, but you'll have a fun and exciting office to go to, and plenty of chances to socialize with your fellow interns. We'll have you with us throughout the university year, too. Not a bad gig, right?

Responsibilities

• Develop and Deploy AI Solutions: Actively participate in the development of large-scale software projects, focusing on building and consuming REST APIs for our generative AI applications.

• Build with Large Language Models (LLMs): Your daily work will involve hands-on experience with LLMs, including the design and implementation of systems using advanced concepts like Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and AI Agents.

• Create Real-World Impact: Contribute to building robust AI agents equipped with custom tools to solve complex problems and create amazing user experiences.

• Ensure Quality and Performance: Play a key role in the evaluation of our AI systems, helping to define and measure whether our models are performing accurately and effectively.

• Collaborate and Grow: Work within a dynamic, team-based environment, learning how to solve complex problems and grow into a skilled AI Engineer.

Qualifications

• Currently attending one of the following universities: ITBA, UNSAM, UBA, UTN, UADE, AUSTRAL

• Advanced student in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields

• Students with at least 18 months remaining until graduation (graduating in December 2027 or later).

• Experience with backend development (Node.js or Python preferred)

• AI Curiosity: You have a genuine interest in Artificial Intelligence and are familiar with the concept of Large Language Models (LLMs).

• Understanding of APIs and general system design

• Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn and adapt quickly

• Availability to work in a hybrid model from our office in Buenos Aires.

• Availability of 20 hours a week for at least 1 year of internship.

• Intermediate to Advanced English level.

• Applicants must be authorized to work permanently for any employer in Argentina.

Bonus Points

• Exposure to LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.)

• Advanced AI Concepts: You’ve heard of or explored concepts like Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), AI Agents, Embeddings, or Vector Databases.

• Modern AI Tooling: Familiarity with libraries and frameworks like LangChain, LangGraph, or Pydantic.

• Cloud & DevOps: Interest or experience with Cloud platforms (GCP, Azure, AWS) and CI/CD practices.

• Software Engineering Best Practices: Knowledge of Clean Code, SOLID principles, and the importance of virtual environments.
