After-School Nanny – York, ME 

A family in York, ME 03909 is seeking a dependable, energetic caregiver for her bright 5-year-old son as he starts kindergarten. This role focuses on after-school care with potential for additional hours and overnights during occasional work travel. UNH students are encouraged to apply. 

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday: 2:45 PM – 5:30/6:00 PM
• Start Date: September 2026

Family Specifications:

• Single-parent household
• Opportunities for extra hours and overnight care during occasional mother's business travel
• Focus on building a meaningful, long-term relationship for the school year and beyond

Responsibilities:

• Safely pick up the child from school or the bus stop each weekday
• Prepare light afternoon snacks and supervise care
• Engage the child in active outdoor play, creative activities, games, and reading
• Support simple kindergarten homework or reading practice as needed
• Maintain clear communication with mom regarding daily routines and schedule

Requirements:

• Valid driver's license and reliable personal transportation
• Active, patient, and warm approach to managing an energetic kindergartener
• Highly dependable, punctual, and flexible

Preferred:

• CPR and First Aid certified
• Background/studies in Education, Early Childhood Education, Nursing, OT, Psychology, or Social Work

Compensation:

• $22–$28 per hour (commensurate with experience)
