The Activities Assistant is a key member. The primary goal is to plan and facilitate innovative programs, activities and events for the residents. You will support Total Quality Management efforts and participate in Quality Improvement committees from time to time.
Responsibilities:
- Plans, organizes and carries out a comprehensive program of activities, both within the facility and outside the facility, to stimulate and promote interest and general well-being
- Prepares and maintains a monthly calendar of events with new and innovative programing, as well as traditional events, that covers recreation and educational development for residents as an integral part of total resident care
- Encourages participation and socialization and monitors attendance
- Prepares and distributes the monthly community newsletter
Qualifications:
- Must have strong program development and management skills
- Must be creative and motivating to both individuals and groups of people
- Must have a mission-driven passion for serving older adults
- Must have excellent customer service skills, good judgement and decision-making skills
- Must have excellent communication skills: listening, verbal and written
- Must be detail oriented, able to prioritize and utilize effective time management skills and be flexible to adjust to impromptu situations on a regular basis
- Must be willing to work a flexible schedule
Education: Associates/Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
Experience: Experience in programming and leading activities.
