Warehouse Supervisor – Overnight Shift

Position Summary

The Warehouse Supervisor - Overnight Shift is responsible for leading overnight warehouse and inventory-control operations in a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing environment. The primary responsibility is managing the company’s ABC cycle-count program through the Epicor Cycle Count module, including count assignment, execution, variance investigation, recounts, corrective actions, and inventory-accuracy reporting.

This position directly supervises a team of three employees and provides oversight of receiving, kitting, storage, material movement, inventory control, and shipping support. The supervisor ensures operations comply with AS9100, FAA, ITAR, OSHA, customer requirements, and company policies.

Shift: Monday through Thursday, 8:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.
Direct Reports: Three warehouse employees

Key Responsibilities

Cycle Counting and Inventory Control

  • Manage the ABC cycle-count program using the Epicor Cycle Count module.
  • Generate, review, assign, and monitor daily counts based on established ABC classifications and count frequencies.
  • Ensure scheduled counts, blind recounts, and variance investigations are completed accurately and on time.
  • Investigate discrepancies by reviewing receipts, material issues, transfers, job transactions, location movements, returns, adjustments, and other Epicor activity.
  • Identify and document root causes, coordinate authorized inventory adjustments, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Monitor cycle-count completion, inventory accuracy, variance value, recount frequency, and unresolved discrepancies.
  • Lead cycle-count activities and support year-end physical inventories and internal or external audits.

Warehouse Operations

  • Oversee graveyard-shift warehouse activities, including receiving, kitting, storage, material movement, inventory control, and shipping support.
  • Ensure materials and finished goods are accurately received, stored, handled, transacted, and distributed.
  • Verify that warehouse transactions are completed accurately and promptly in Epicor or other applicable ERP systems.
  • Monitor material availability and coordinate material movement to support production schedules.
  • Maintain proper control and segregation of raw material, work-in-process, finished goods, customer-owned material, and non-conforming material.
  • Communicate completed work, shortages, discrepancies, and unresolved issues through an accurate end-of-shift handoff.

Leadership and Team Management

  • Lead, supervise, schedule, and provide daily work direction to a team of three warehouse employees.
  • Assign work based on cycle-count requirements, production priorities, and operational needs.
  • Train employees on Epicor transactions, cycle-count procedures, material handling, inventory control, safety requirements, and standard work.
  • Monitor attendance, productivity, work quality, and compliance with established procedures.
  • Provide coaching, performance feedback, evaluations, cross-training, and employee-development support.
  • Hold employees accountable for inventory accuracy, transaction discipline, safety, housekeeping, and completion of assigned work.
  • Support hiring and onboarding activities as required.

Quality and Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure warehouse operations comply with AS9100, FAA, ITAR, customer, quality-system, and internal procedural requirements.
  • Maintain material traceability throughout receiving, storage, issuance, movement, and shipping.
  • Ensure proper lot tracking, serial-number control, labeling, documentation, shelf-life management, and material identification.
  • Ensure expired, damaged, suspect, or non-conforming material is properly identified, documented, and segregated.
  • Support quality audits, inventory audits, customer audits, and regulatory inspections.
  • Ensure employees comply with applicable documentation, transaction, traceability, and material-handling requirements.

Safety and Housekeeping

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
  • Conduct safety observations and promptly address unsafe conditions or behaviors.
  • Ensure employees use required personal protective equipment and approved material-handling practices.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, secure, and audit-ready warehouse environment.
  • Promote 5S standards and ensure aisles, storage locations, emergency exits, and work areas remain clear.
  • Report and investigate safety incidents, material damage, and operational concerns in accordance with company procedures.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent education, training, and experience may be considered.
  • Five or more years of warehouse, inventory-control, materials-management, or logistics experience.
  • At least two years of supervisory or team-lead experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
  • Aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated manufacturing experience is preferred.
  • Experience managing cycle counts, investigating inventory discrepancies, and supporting physical inventories or audits.
  • Experience using an ERP system in a manufacturing environment.
  • Epicor experience, including the Epicor Cycle Count module, is strongly preferred.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of ABC cycle counting, inventory accuracy, variance investigation, recounts, and inventory adjustments.
  • Understanding of process flow across suppliers, receiving, warehousing, planning, manufacturing, quality, and shipping.
  • Ability to identify process failures and implement solutions that prevent recurring discrepancies.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, team-development, and performance-management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work and make sound decisions independently during overnight operations.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, time-management, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and strong Excel skills, including VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables, filtering, and basic data analysis.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, standard work, and 5S practices.
  • Working knowledge of AS9100, FAA, ITAR, OSHA, and aerospace material-control requirements.
  • Understanding of material traceability, lot and serial control, shelf-life management, labeling, and non-conforming material segregation.

Working Conditions

  • Work is primarily performed in a warehouse and manufacturing-floor environment with exposure to warehouse equipment, material-handling activity, varying temperatures, and noise levels.
  • Requires extended periods of standing and walking and may include bending, reaching, climbing, and lifting or moving materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be available to work Monday through Thursday from 8:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.
  • Additional hours, overtime, weekend work, or schedule adjustments may be required to support inventories, audits, production requirements, or staffing needs.

Compensation Pay Range

$75,000-$85,000
