Job Summary:

Reporting to the Supervisor/Manager this entry-level position is responsible for coordinating and supporting technical activities. The role requires technical aptitude, problem-solving ability, and excellent teamwork skills to be successful.
• Provides technical assistance in support of others.
• Applies technical knowledge to help promote a safe work environment and to enhance customer satisfaction

Job Description:

  • Performs assignments in specialized areas requiring technical expertise. 

  • Reviews functional specifications for completeness and consideration of practical limitations. 

  • Coordinates activities as a member of a multi-disciplinary team. 

  • May support the review of technical documentation. 

  • Supports basic work planning, coordination, budgeting, and cost estimating. 

  • May support the development and updates of single line diagrams, and equipment specifications for engineering review and approval.  

  • Supports material procurement.

  • Collaborates with activities in the QA/QC process. 

  • Provides basic technical support to field and construction groups. 

  • Utilizes and improves processes and standards. 

  • Provides reporting, including presentations to work groups and management. 

  • Position may be required to work extended hours including major storm restoration work and associated drills as assigned.

  • Other duties as assigned. 

Additional Job Description:

Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • BS in a technical field or BS Electrical Engineering from ABET-accredited college.
  • Zero to two years of professional engineering experience.

Skills

  • Business knowledge in the utility & regulated environment. 
  • Interpersonal and relationship development skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively interact with internal and external customers.
  • Team player and ability to prioritize assignments to meet commitments.
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to resolve technical issues.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3.2 GPA or higher preferred.
  • Master’s degree in a technical discipline.
  • Working knowledge and experience with regulations, guides, standards, codes, methods, and practices necessary to perform routine assignments.
  • Experience in utility industry trade organizations.
  • Experience with MS Office, 365, Word, PowerPoint, Excel
