Lightcast is seeking a Technical Operations Business Analyst to connect our Technical Operations and Finance teams by translating operational data into insights both teams can use. As an individual contributor embedded within Technical Operations and reporting to the SVP of Application Development, you'll partner with the teams responsible for collecting operational data and help turn that information into dashboards, analyses, and clear reporting for technical and financial stakeholders. You’ll also support vendor management, contracts, budgeting, and forecasting activities.
This is an opportunity for someone early in their career who is curious, analytical, and interested in developing experience across technology, data, finance, and business operations. Because this role sits at a fast-moving intersection of teams, we're especially looking for someone who learns quickly and adapts as business needs evolve.
Major Responsibilities:
Serve as a liaison between Technical Operations and Finance, helping each team understand the other's priorities, constraints, and data.
Partner with the technical teams that collect operational data to understand how it's gathered and how it can support financial and operational reporting.
Create dashboards and analyses, using AI-enabled tools where appropriate, that turn operational data into useful insights for leadership.
Prepare clear reporting that translates technical activity into understandable financial and performance information.
Support vendor management and contract activities, including renewals, negotiations, documentation, and coordination among stakeholders.
Partner with Finance to improve visibility into technical operations spending and provide information used in forecasting and budgeting.
Learn Lightcast’s data collection processes, technical environment, and financial reporting needs to provide increasingly independent support over time.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in any field of study
1–3 years of experience in technical operations, business operations, data analytics, finance, or another relevant area, ideally in a DaaS, SaaS, or similarly technical company
Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and adapt to the changing needs of the business, we value learning agility and curiosity over years on a résumé
Proficiency in the Google Workspace suite of tools
Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders while helping translate information between technical and financial teams
Experience working with data, reporting, or dashboards is preferred
SQL knowledge preferred
Vendor management and procurement experience preferred
We do not expect candidates to have experience in every area listed. We are looking for someone with a strong analytical foundation, excellent communication skills, and the ability to learn new technical and business concepts quickly.
