This role combines advanced quality engineering practices with strong Power Systems domain expertise, requiring hands-on experience in test strategy development, functional and system validation, test automation, defect analysis, and end-to-end quality assurance across enterprise Grid Software applications. You will collaborate closely with software engineers, architects, product managers, and domain experts to translate utility and grid operation requirements into comprehensive test plans and high-quality product releases. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, a deep understanding of power system concepts and transmission applications, and experience driving quality initiatives across complex software systems. Responsibilities

  • Develop, execute, and maintain comprehensive test strategies, test cases, and validation frameworks for Grid Software and electrification solutions.
  • Perform functional, system, integration, regression, and end-to-end validation of power system applications, ensuring product reliability and quality.
  • Design and implement automated test solutions while promoting quality engineering best practices across the software development lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with software engineers, architects, product managers, and domain experts to understand requirements and validate complex grid and utility workflows.
  • Translate power systems and utility business requirements into effective validation scenarios and test coverage strategies.
  • Validate algorithms, analytical functions, and operational workflows across product modules to ensure accuracy and performance.
  • Contribute to quality reviews, defect triage, root cause analysis, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.

  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and drive resolution of application defects, performance issues, and customer-reported problems.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software releases that meet customer and business expectations.

Desired Characteristics

  • Strong Power Systems and utility domain expertise, with experience validating Transmission, EMS, SCADA, WAMS, or related electrification software solutions.
  • Proven experience in quality engineering, including test strategy, system validation, defect management, and release qualification.
  • Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks, automated testing tools, and modern quality engineering practices.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise software products, complex system integrations, and end-to-end solution validation.
  • Familiarity with APIs, databases, web applications, and distributed system architectures from a testing perspective.
  • Experience working in Linux and Windows environments.
  • Ability to analyze power system requirements and develop effective validation approaches for complex operational scenarios.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills.
  • Experience working in Agile environments with CI/CD and continuous testing practices.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related STEM discipline.
  • 8+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance, Quality Engineering, or software product validation.
  • Hands-on experience in testing and validating enterprise software products, with strong expertise in power systems and electrification software solutions.
