The Opportunity

As a dedicated Sourcing and Procurement Manager Lead, you will lead complex category strategies and sourcing engagements across commercial real estate, facilities, and related services for the CEO and Chief of Staff portfolio. You will serve as a strategic advisor to senior business leaders, translating organizational priorities, market intelligence, financial analysis, and supplier-market capabilities into innovative sourcing strategies that drive sustainable enterprise value.

You will bring deep commercial real estate category expertise, exceptional negotiation capabilities, and strong executive advisory and influencing skills to successfully lead complex initiatives from strategy development through implementation. You will also drive effective supplier governance and performance management, ensuring sourcing strategies and supplier partnerships deliver meaningful business outcomes and long-term value.

We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week.

This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, Phoenix, AZ, Charlotte, NC.

Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

What you'll do:

  • Conducts all phases in the development of highly complex or technical and strategic acquisitions of third-party/affiliate solutions to include consulting on statements of work, creating requests for proposals, identification of qualified suppliers, proposal evaluations and negotiation of pricing, services, and contract terms.

  • Leads and provides direction to cross-functional teams in the design of innovative sourcing plans and solutions to achieve client's strategy through deployment of third-party solutions.

  • Interprets the provisions and specific terms of all contract risks with a primary focus on strategic and complex risks risk contracts that could cause the Enterprise to face significant risk, coaches and mentors junior Sourcing and Procurement with contract risk mitigation.

  • Drives the collaboration and engagement of Legal and other subject matter experts as needed to interpret and ensure accuracy of contracts resolve escalated issues.

  • Facilitates and leads efforts with key stakeholders to gather complex business requirements and specifications to design third-party solutions to achieve optimal business outcomes.

  • Utilizes leadership, collaboration, and influencing skills to translate strategy into viable options for third-party solutions.

  • Advises in the development of contract specifications to achieve pre-established savings, quality, and risk/cost avoidance targets.

  • Influences senior leaders on third-party utilization to achieve overall strategic/operational objectives.

  • Collaborates with internal stakeholders and suppliers ensuring value added, compliant, and consistent procurement experiences across assigned client group.

  • Enables execution of the sourcing strategy and category plan by leveraging business acumen, contracting, and sourcing subject matter expertise, and best practices.

  • Drives collaboration and issue resolution throughout the sourcing execution process.

  • Serves as the sourcing expert, providing direction and coaching to others across.

  • Procurement on complex issues.

  • Builds credibility for the Procurement organization and the sourcing solutions business model with clients and stakeholders to drive the third-party strategy.

  • Creates and evaluates commercial models, client demand and volume drivers, and creates negotiated alternatives for complex contract actions requiring intricate negotiation.

  • Utilizes extensive experience in Procurement Strategy and planning to develop highly complex sourcing strategies.

  • Leads develops, and mentors cross functional teams.

  • Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

What you have:

  • Bachelor's degree; OR 4 years of relevant education and/or experience.

  • 8 years of experience in complex procurement strategy, to include planning, sourcing, and/or solutioning, to include 6 years or experience managing complex supplier relationships and/or contract negotiations in a highly regulated industry.

  • Exemplary experience designing end-to-end procurement strategies.

  • Demonstrated track record of leading sustainable high-impact strategic sourcing approaches.

  • Knowledge of the strategic sourcing procurement lifecycle and procurement best practices and methods.

  • Advanced knowledge applicable procurement policies, laws, and regulations.

  • Experience coaching and/or mentoring procurement professionals on relevant procurement regulations and industry best practices.

  • Progressive experience leading cross-functional teams or projects requiring strong collaboration, facilitation, and negotiation skills.

  • Expert experience leveraging analytical tools, including Microsoft Office products and other applicable business software, to develop analysis, charts, and/or supporting documentation.

  • Excellent communication skills with experience communicating and presenting to senior leadership.

What sets you apart:

  • Extensive experience managing strategic sourcing, category management, supplier performance, contracts, and third-party relationships within commercial real estate, facilities, and workplace services categories.

  • Demonstrated experience leading commercial real estate and workplace initiatives, including portfolio optimization, workplace strategy development, integrated facilities management, capital investment programs, consolidations, relocations, and large-scale supplier transitions.

  • Proven expertise negotiating complex commercial real estate, facilities management, brokerage, consulting, construction, and related service agreements, including pricing structures, service-level commitments, performance incentives, and risk allocation provisions.

  • Extensive experience leading complex competitive sourcing engagements for commercial real estate and facilities-related services, including supplier evaluation, market assessments, sourcing strategy development, supplier selection, and implementation.

  • Advanced expertise designing and implementing supplier governance frameworks, supplier segmentation strategies, performance scorecards, service-level management programs, escalation protocols, and executive business review processes for strategic suppliers.

  • Strong financial and commercial acumen, including experience with cost modeling, benchmarking, proposal analysis, scenario planning, business case development, and value-creation initiatives that drive enterprise savings, operational efficiencies, risk reduction, and supplier innovation.

  • US military experience gained through military service or gained as a military spouse / domestic partner.

Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $114,080.00 - $218,030.00.

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.

 

Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
