About this Site Engineer role at Solarvest
- Supervise subcontractors on-site to ensure one-time project works (e.g., inverter/component replacement, system upgrades, retrofits, dismantling, reinstallation) are carried out according to approved drawings, method statements, and safety procedures.
- Act as the main on-site point of contact for the client, providing regular progress updates and addressing queries or concerns promptly.
- Conduct daily site coordination with subcontractors to plan work sequencing, resolve site issues, and ensure works stay on schedule.
- Verify site readiness, material availability, and manpower deployment by subcontractors before commencement of work.
- Monitor subcontractor workmanship and quality, flagging non-conformances and ensuring rectification before sign-off.
- Ensure subcontractors comply with HIRARC, MOS, PTW, and other safety documentation requirements throughout project execution.
- Conduct site inspections and quality checks during and after project works (e.g., thermography inspection, visual/workmanship verification).
- Record daily site progress, including work completed, manpower attendance, material usage, and any issues encountered.
- Support and witness testing, commissioning, and final inspection together with client representatives.
- Report site issues, incidents, near misses, or delays immediately to the O&M/project team and support corrective actions.
- Coordinate project handover and demobilization with subcontractors and client upon completion of works.
- Escalate technical or contractual issues arising on-site (e.g., scope discrepancies, defects, access issues) to the project/O&M team for resolution.
- Prepare site reports and documentation for internal records and client submission.
Requirements
- Diploma/Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field.
- Possession of Chargeman AO/A1/A4 or Wireman PW4 is an added advantage.
- Good site management and supervision abilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Able to prepare and submit daily progress reports
- Willing to travel to provide on-site support in Perak, Terengganu, and Kelantan
- Knowledge of site safety, quality, and documentation practices (MOS, HIRARC, PTW, QA/QC).
