We are looking for an experiencedย Senior Development Engineerย with deep expertise in designing and developing large-scale distributed systems. This role is suited for an engineer who understands how to build highly scalable, reliable, secure, and high-performance systems and can solve complex engineering challenges across distributed architectures.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience withย Java, Hadoop, SQL, distributed systems, security, and communication protocols, along with a strong understanding of scalability, fault tolerance, resource management, and performance optimization. Experience with C++ is an added advantage.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimizeย distributed systemsย with a focus on scalability, performance, reliability, and fault tolerance.
- Apply strong knowledge of communication protocols and distributed system patterns to build efficient system components.
- Develop secure communication mechanisms usingย encryption, authentication, SSL/TLS, and other security practices.
- Build high-quality software usingย Javaย and contribute to large-scale data processing components usingย Hadoop and SQL.
- Design and optimize SQL queries, data workflows, and processing pipelines for high-performance distributed execution.
- Develop resilient components with effective resource management, task coordination, failure handling, and recovery mechanisms.
- Analyze system performance and identify bottlenecks across multi-node and distributed environments.
- Troubleshoot complex production and system-level issues and drive effective root-cause analysis.
- Collaborate withย architects, QA, DevOps, and engineering teamsย to deliver reliable and secure solutions.
- Participate in architecture discussions, technical design reviews, and code reviews.
- Establish and follow engineering best practices for code quality, performance, security, and maintainability.
- Contribute to continuous improvements in distributed system architecture and development processes.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- 10+ years of experienceย in software development or distributed systems engineering.
- Strong hands-on programming expertise inย Java.
- Solid experience withย Hadoop, SQL, and SQL query optimization.
- Deep understanding of distributed systems concepts includingย scalability, fault tolerance, resource management, task coordination, and communication patterns.
- Strong knowledge of secure system design, includingย encryption, authentication, SSL/TLS, and secure communication.
- Experience working with communication protocols and distributed architectures.
- Strong analytical, debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience withย C++ย is desirable.
- Ability to design and develop reliable software for large-scale, multi-node environments.
- Strong understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and development best practices.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional technical teams.
- Experience withย AWS, Azure, or GCPย is an advantage.
- Familiarity withย Docker, Kubernetes, or other container orchestration technologies is a plus.
