The role

As a Sales Operations Analyst, you will sit at the intersection of business analysis, data analysis and financial analysis. You will turn data from CRM and other business systems into trusted models, commercial insight and practical actions for Sales & Marketing.

Most of the role is hands-on analytical delivery: SQL, Power BI, semantic modelling, validation, automation and controlled AI workflows. A smaller part supports core sales operations, including pipeline hygiene, performance checks and forecasting discipline.

Key responsibilities

  • Build and maintain SQL transformations, reusable datasets and analytical models across CRM, commercial, financial and operational data.
  • Develop Power BI semantic models, dashboards and reusable DAX measures, with clear relationships and governed calculation logic.
  • Translate business questions into structured requirements, trusted KPI definitions and scalable reporting solutions.
  • Analyse pipeline, revenue, renewals, activity and usage through trends, variances, performance drivers and gap analysis.
  • Validate grain, keys, joins, filters, mappings and deduplication rules, and reconcile reporting outputs to source systems.
  • Investigate refresh failures, source changes, data quality issues and reporting discrepancies before they affect business decisions.
  • Build QA checks, exception reporting and repeatable workflows that reduce manual effort and improve control.
  • Develop and improve approved AI-assisted workflows for analysis, code, documentation and automation, with disciplined human validation.
  • Maintain clear metric, lineage and decision documentation, and explain technical findings in practical business language.
  • Support core sales operations checks covering pipeline hygiene, funnel movement, activity, compliance and forecast performance.

Skills & attributes for success

  • 3+ years of relevant experience across sales operations, business analysis, data analysis, financial analysis, BI or commercial analytics.
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering or a related field preferred
  • Strong SQL skills and practical experience with Power BI, DAX, Power Query and advanced Excel.
  • Solid understanding of data modelling concepts, including facts, dimensions, grain, keys and table relationships.
  • Proven ability to build reliable reporting datasets, reusable KPI logic and reconciliations across multiple data layers.
  • Commercial and financial acumen, with the ability to understand performance drivers, forecasts, variances and business trade-offs.
  • Strong business analysis skills: structure ambiguous problems, define requirements and connect business needs to technical solutions.
  • Strong analytical judgment and attention to detail, with a disciplined approach to validation, debugging and documentation.
  • Ability to work independently, with strong interpersonal skills to proactively initiate and build relationships with stakeholders across the globe, technical and non-technical.
  • Experience with CRM systems and commercial, finance, product, customer, usage or operational data is advantageous.
  • Exposure to Python, Git, APIs, JSON, Microsoft Fabric, Tabular Editor or DAX Studio is advantageous.
  • Responsible use of AI tools, with sound judgment around accuracy, access control and sensitive data.
