Job Description Summary

The Project Engineer –Substation Projects is responsible to participate in execution of complex 132kV and 380kV substation projects, ensuring delivery in accordance with contractual commitments, technical specifications, quality standards, and EHS requirements. This role has accountability for project integration, scope, planning, stakeholder management, procurement coordination, risk mitigation, and customer satisfaction across all phases of the project lifecycle.

The role requires a average experienced substation component with a good background in electrical power engineering. This position demands average commercial awareness, technical depth, and the ability to manage interfaces across internal functions, subcontractors, suppliers, consortium partners, and customer organizations. The Project Engineer is expected to drive project deliverables, maintain strong governance, interact with multicultural teams, and proactively address project risks and opportunities to achieve successful execution and long-term customer confidence.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Integration and Governance: participation on overall project planning, governance, and execution to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Scope Management: Manage project scope and requirements to ensure alignment with customer and business expectations.
  • Schedule and Time Management: Monitor project schedules and key milestones to support timely completion.
  • Cost, Margin, and Financial Management: awareness of project budgets and financial performance to achieve cost and profitability targets.
  • Procurement, Supplier, and Delivery Coordination: Coordinate procurement and supplier activities to ensure timely and effective project support.
  • EHS and Quality Management: Ensure compliance with EHS and quality standards throughout project execution.
  • Communication and Stakeholder Management: Maintain effective communication with project manager and stakeholders to support collaboration and customer satisfaction.
  • Risk and Opportunity Management: Monitor project risks and opportunities and implement appropriate action plans.
  • Contract, Claims, and Commercial Management: contribute contractual and commercial matters to support project success and protect business interests.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation and control or/and Electrical Power Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in project management.
  • Demonstrated experience with major customers in Saudi Arabia, including SEC, Royal Commission, or/and ARAMCO.
  • Experience delivering projects in customer-facing and internally facing environments.
  • Technical understanding of electrical substation systems and project lifecycle requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Arabic.
  • Willingness to travel globally and work in different project locations for short- or medium-term assignments.
  • Valid registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE).
  • PMP certification is required.

Desired Characteristics

  • RMP certificate is preferred.
  • Good experience in procurement planning, delivery coordination, supplier performance management and risk management.
  • Experience in project scope, timeline, profitability, and delivery performance.
  • Experience operating in international project delivery environments.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving capability
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in multicultural and matrix environments
