Your role and responsibilities

The Lead (QE) for PA Core will serve as a dynamic techno-functional leader dedicated to enhancing the Quality Engineering framework across DataOps, Edge, Visualization, Packaging, and IAM within ABB Genix. The role is accountable for shaping automation-first practices, embedding QE in CI/CD pipelines, and ensuring governance and reusability across platform and customer project validations.

This position requires both technical depth and leadership capability – guiding teams, cross-functional stakeholders, and ensuring that PA Core QE becomes the foundation of trust for Genix APM and customer solutions.

The work model for the role is: Hybrid

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Define and own the QE strategy across PA Core areas (DataOps, Edge, Visualization, Packaging, IAM) while establishing governance for functional, non-functional, and regression coverage.
  • Implement the adoption of automation-first and shift-left practices, embedding CI/CD-integrated testing and continuous quality validation.
  • Coordinate the development and recycling of Golden Test Packs and acceptance packs, working with Platform, APM, and Domain teams to align QE outcomes with business KPIs.
  • Mentor QE engineers to build a high-performance, specialist-driven culture while ensuring compliance, security, and performance baselines are validated and measurable. 

Qualifications for the role:

  • 15+ years of experience in Quality Engineering, including 3–5 years in a lead or architect role.
  • Demonstrated experience in platform/IIoT or industrial software solutions, ABB, Honeywell, AspenTech, GE Digital.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in creating testing strategies, ensuring quality governance, developing automation frameworks, and establishing teams focused on quality engineering.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of CI/CD integration using tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, and GitHub Actions.
  • Practical involvement with automation tools and validation frameworks (PyTest, Playwright, JMeter, SQL/KQL) along with comprehension of industrial data flows (DataOps, Edge, OT/IT adapters, IAM security).
  • Knowledge of security and compliance standards, combined with effective leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills to engage senior stakeholders.
  • Delivered measurable outcomes including >90% QE automation coverage, 100% governance adoption, <3% defect leakage, higher first-time-right percentages, and consistent on-time release certification.
