About this Payroll Accountant - Fixed Term Contract role at Vivo Energy
Purpose of the Job:
To ensure all payroll accounting activities are accurately maintained and aligned across OUs supported by GBS where required. To support audit requests, financial year-end processes and ensure the application of relevant controls for correctness and compliance with legislations. This role will also support 3rd party payments and schedules to ensure timely and accurate payments to all payroll vendors.
Principal Accountabilities:
PAYROLL, AUDIT & COMPLIANCE
- Support on all audit functions relating to Payroll for internal and external audits eg: SARS, Labour Department and COIDA.
- Provide support and required documents to internal and external auditing teams to ensure Vivo Energy complies with relevant standards, practices and legislations relating to payroll accounts.
- Ensure payments and reconciliations are completed timeously.
- Manage expats payment reconciliations where required.
GENERAL ACCOUNTING
- Work with the relevant OU teams to ensure:
- Payroll accounting records are accurate and compliant with financial and statutory requirements.
- Payroll accounting reconciliation items are cleared timeously.
Third Party Payments
- Support in the generation of payment schedules for 3rd party service providers (e.g., medical aid, pension/provident funds, garnishees).
- Ensure payments are processed accurately and shared with service providers within agreed timelines.
- Maintain records of payment confirmations and liaise with providers to resolve discrepancies.
REPORTING AND ANALYSIS
- Monitor, analyze, and report on payroll accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare monthly payroll movement reports and assist with management reporting requirements.
Requirements
- NQF Level 7 (Degree in HR/ Accounting/ Finance)
- Certificate in SAP HR/ SAP FI
- 5 years’ experience in HR/ Payroll Accounting
- Experience in SAP HR & SAP FI Systems
- Knowledge of SARS e-filing and Easy File system
- Knowledge of PAYE, UIF & SDL rules
