Mechanical Design Engineer

Starting Salary: $60,000/year, with higher compensation available based on experience
Position Overview
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the design and development of power protection equipment, including switchboards, Power Distribution Units (PDUs), and power panels. This role will work with engineering and cross-functional teams to develop, test, improve, and customize products.
Responsibilities
Develop mechanical designs, drawings, and documentation for new and existing power equipment.
Work with cross-functional teams to deliver quality designs that meet project and customer requirements.
Participate in design reviews, verification activities, and design improvements.
Design and release mechanical prototypes and support prototype fabrication and evaluation.
Lead smaller engineering projects and coordinate activities needed to meet project requirements.
Collaborate with production, supply chain, service, and other teams throughout product development.
Support product customization, lifecycle management, ECN, and product optimization activities.
Qualifications
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or a similar discipline.
2+ years of relevant engineering experience.
Experience with SolidWorks CAD, including thermal and structural evaluation.
Knowledge of sheet metal design, detail part drawings, assembly drawings, and Design for Manufacturing (DFM).
Ability to interpret and apply UL and IEC electrical safety standards related to power equipment.
Knowledge of power protection equipment and the data center market preferred.
Experience with PLM software is a plus.
Experience with test fixtures and technical writing is a plus.
Familiarity with switchboards, PDUs, UL 891, and UL 508 panels is a plus.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Collaborative, solution-focused approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a team environment.
