About this Marketing and Growth Manager (009-00461) role at Hunt St
Looking for Philippines-based candidates
Job Role: Marketing and Growth Manager
Compensation range: $2,500 AUD - $3,500 AUD / Monthly (depending on experience and demonstrated capability)
Engagement type: Independent Contractor Agreement
Work Schedule: This is a flexible remote contractor role. You will have autonomy over how you structure your working hours, provided deadlines and agreed deliverables are met. Some overlap with Australian business hours will be required for meetings, collaboration and communication with the Directors and team, but you will not be expected to work a fixed 9 AM–5 PM Australian schedule.
Who We Are: At Hunt St, we help Australian companies hire top remote talent in the Philippines. For this role, you will be engaged directly by the client as an independent contractor. We are not an outsourcing agency. All of our roles are 100% remote so you'll be able to work from home.
Who The Client Is: Our client is a growing specialist mathematics education business based in Sydney, Australia, providing high-quality tuition to secondary students from Years 7–12.
The business has built a strong reputation for academically rigorous teaching, small-group classes and helping students achieve outstanding results. Its programs cater to students across a range of abilities, including high-performing students from some of Sydney's leading selective schools.
As the business continues to grow, it is looking to significantly strengthen its marketing function and build a more sophisticated, data-driven approach to student acquisition, engagement and brand growth.
Role Overview: We are looking for a highly capable and commercially minded Marketing & Growth Manager to take ownership of the client's marketing function. This is not simply a social media or content creation role. You will be responsible for developing marketing strategy, identifying growth opportunities and executing campaigns that generate enquiries, trial bookings and student enrollments.
The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution. You should be comfortable moving between campaign planning, copywriting, digital advertising, content, CRM/database marketing, analytics and project management.
You will work closely with the Directors and will be expected to proactively identify opportunities rather than waiting to be given individual marketing tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute the overall marketing strategy in collaboration with the Directors.
- Own the marketing calendar and proactively plan campaigns around enrolment periods, school terms, examinations, new classes, holiday programs and other business initiatives.
- Develop campaigns designed to generate qualified leads, trial bookings and student enrolments.
- Manage and optimise digital marketing channels, including paid and organic campaigns across platforms such as Meta and Google.
- Manage the company's social media presence and develop content that strengthens the brand and engages students and parents.
- Write high-quality marketing copy for advertisements, landing pages, emails, SMS campaigns, social media and promotional materials.
- Develop email, SMS and CRM/database marketing campaigns for lead nurturing, re-engagement, retention and enrollment.
- Identify opportunities to better utilise the company's existing student, parent and prospect database.
- Coordinate the development of marketing assets, including digital advertisements, graphics, videos, brochures and other promotional material.
- Develop and improve landing pages, lead funnels and conversion pathways.
- Conduct competitor, customer and market research to identify new growth opportunities.
- Track marketing performance and report on key metrics including leads, cost per lead, conversion rates, acquisition channels and campaign ROI.
- Use data and experimentation to continually improve campaign performance.
- Maintain consistent brand positioning, messaging and visual standards across all channels.
- Manage marketing projects from concept through to execution, ensuring deadlines and deliverables are met.
- Research and recommend new marketing tools, technologies, channels and strategies where they could improve business performance.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of relevant marketing experience, ideally in a role involving significant ownership of marketing campaigns.
- Demonstrated experience generating leads or customer acquisition through digital marketing.
- Strong understanding of paid digital advertising, particularly.
- Experience with social media marketing and content strategy.
- Experience with email marketing, CRM/database marketing or marketing automation.
- Excellent written English and strong copywriting skills, with the ability to communicate naturally and persuasively to an Australian audience.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret marketing data and translate it into actions.
- Experience tracking campaign performance and marketing KPIs.
- Strong organisational and project management skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple campaigns and priorities simultaneously.
- Comfortable working independently in a remote environment.
- Highly proactive—you identify what needs to be done and take ownership rather than waiting for detailed instructions.
- Commercially minded, creative and focused on measurable results.
Highly Regarded:
Experience in any of the following would be advantageous:
- Education, tutoring or other service-based businesses
- Marketing to parents, families or students
- Australian businesses or Australian consumers
- Salesforce or other CRM platforms
- Marketing automation
- Landing page and conversion-rate optimisation
- SEO and local search
- Canva, Adobe or similar creative platforms
- Video and short-form content
- Google Analytics and advertising analytics
What Success Looks Like
Success in this role will ultimately be measured by your ability to help grow the business.
You will be expected to build a structured and consistent marketing function, increase the volume and quality of enquiries, improve conversion from marketing campaigns, strengthen the company's brand presence and identify new opportunities for sustainable growth.
We are looking for someone who wants genuine ownership of marketing - not someone who simply waits for a list of tasks.
Work Arrangement & Expectations:
This is a remote role that will be set up as an independent contractor engagement.
To ensure alignment and transparency, successful candidates will be expected to:
- Disclose any existing ongoing roles or client work
- Reflect this engagement on their LinkedIn profile (clearly marked as “Independent Contractor”)
- Maintain sufficient availability and responsiveness during agreed Australian business hours to collaborate effectively with the team.
