About the location:

Oceanfront elegance within an iconic social club setting. From the moment it first opened its doors on New Year’s Eve 1930, The Surf Club has hosted history. It is here that you will find Four Seasons Hotel at The Surf Club. An icon in the Miami Beaches, located near Sunny Isles, this beachside hotel brings a new era of luxury, with celebrated dining and a world-class spa, to its Surfside shores.

About the role:

The Learning & Development Manager is responsible for creating and driving a culture of continuous learning across the property. This role partners closely with department leaders to identify learning needs, design and implement development programs, and support organizational growth through impactful training initiatives.

The successful candidate will benchmark learning outcomes against Learning Success Levels, conduct comprehensive Learning Needs Analyses, and develop innovative learning solutions that address performance gaps and strengthen leadership capabilities. This position also oversees training calendars, evaluates program effectiveness, manages learning resources and budgets, and supports property-wide change initiatives to enhance employee engagement and service excellence.

What you will do:

  • Manages and facilitates (in collaboration with other presenters) Embark for all new employees

  • Manages and facilitates (in collaboration with other presenters) all other core programs including Service Foundations, Introduction to Leadership Behaviors, NLO, GROW, and annual compliance requirements.

  • Ensures new managers to the company are given the knowledge and skills to successfully complete their 90-day probationary period through the New Leader Orientation program Maintains an effective Designated Trainer program

  • Manages an effective standards training program and ensures Standards Training Manuals are updated regularly and training checklists are turned in for new hires

  • Partners with hotel management teams to determine performance gaps, and advise on actions that are likely to meet those needs

  • Plans and co-facilitates training activities if/when training is part of the solution

  • Coaches managers to ensure the necessary training and learning is conducted in departments on a consistent basis

  • In collaboration with People & Culture or relevant Department Head, manages all compliance and safety training related to the property

  • Ensures new managers to the company are given the knowledge and skills to successfully complete their 90-day probationary period through the New Leader Orientation program

  • Facilitates and/or coaches others to facilitate management development programs including GROW

  • Assists Managers with writing their development plans, ensuring the contents are focused on experience-based learning

  • Ensures every college recruit completes a structured program with learning objectives

What you bring:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a management role.

  • Experience in adult education, training, learning and development, or a related field.

  • Experience in hotel operations, preferably within luxury hospitality or a service-focused environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop teams across diverse cultures and backgrounds.

  • Strong facilitation, presentation, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.

  • Passion for developing people and creating exceptional employee experiences.
