We are looking for a skilled and motivated Lead Java Developer with 2–4 years of hands-on experience in backend application development. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot, along with a solid understanding of software development principles, API design, databases, and scalable backend systems.
As a Lead Java Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining robust backend applications. You will work closely with product managers, frontend developers, QA engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver reliable and high-quality software solutions. You will also contribute to technical decisions, code quality, and development best practices within the team.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
- Build and maintain secure, high-performance RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Translate business requirements into efficient and maintainable technical solutions.
- Develop clean, reusable, modular, and well-documented code following established coding standards.
- Participate in system design, architecture discussions, and technical decision-making.
- Identify performance bottlenecks and implement solutions to improve application scalability and reliability.
- Write unit tests, integration tests, and participate in debugging and troubleshooting activities.
- Work closely with QA teams to resolve defects and ensure production-ready releases.
- Review code, provide constructive feedback, and promote engineering best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Monitor application performance and troubleshoot production issues when required.
- Maintain technical documentation related to APIs, applications, and development processes.
- Stay updated with the latest developments and best practices in Java and backend engineering.
Must-Have Skills
- 2–4 years of professional experience in Java development.
- Strong proficiency in Core Java and object-oriented programming concepts.
- Hands-on experience with Spring Boot for developing backend applications.
- Strong understanding of Spring Framework, dependency injection, and application configuration.
- Experience developing and integrating RESTful APIs.
- Good understanding of Java collections, exception handling, multithreading, and common design patterns.
- Experience working with relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or similar.
- Good understanding of SQL and database concepts.
- Familiarity with Git and standard version-control practices.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and coding best practices.
- Ability to analyze technical problems and develop effective solutions.
Good-to-Have Skills
- Experience working with microservices architecture.
- Familiarity with Spring Security, Spring Data JPA, Hibernate, or similar technologies.
- Exposure to messaging technologies such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
- Understanding of Docker and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment practices.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
