Position Summary:
Working in the laboratory of Dr Bernard Brais, the Lab Helper B will assist a lab associate and research fellow with simple repetitive experiments such as genomic DNA extraction, designing primers for DNA amplification, PCR amplification, sequencing, analysing the results, RNA extraction, single nuclei extraction, cell culture. The Lab Helper B will learn different techniques such as DNA or RNA extraction from different sources of tissue require different protocols, working with DNA and RNA requires different approaches of working depending on the outcomes.
This position is covered by AMUSE Collective Agreement.

Knowledge of English: McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing. The level of English required for this position has been assessed at a level 3 (qualifier) on a scale of 0-4.
