Five Arrows is the alternative assets arm of Rothschild & Co, managing more than €30 billion in a series of funds dedicated to corporate and secondary private equity, multi-managers funds and co-investments, as well as senior and junior private debt. The Five Arrows team comprises over 300 professionals based in Europe and North America. This position is in the Direct Lending (DL) team, a business that provides private debt financing solutions to middle-market companies in Europe and North America.

The DL team comprises more than 20 investment professionals based in Paris, London, and New York, managing over €4 billion of capital.

Junior Fund Controller

This position is a broad fund operations and financial reporting role within the Direct Lending (DL) platform, supporting investor reporting, fund accounting oversight, cash management, transactions, audits, and service provider coordination.

The successful candidate will report directly to the Assistant CFO based in Luxembourg and will work with the CFO of DL based in London. There will also be interaction directly with the investment teams across Paris and London.

Responsibilities

• Support the oversight of fund administrators, auditors and other service providers in connection with fund accounting and financial statement preparation.
• Assist with the preparation and delivery of quarterly and annual investor reporting and financial reporting requirements.
• Monitor, coordinate, and oversee capital call and distribution processes.
• Support the execution of investment transactions in coordination with the investment teams in Paris and London.
• Collaborate with Investment, Compliance, Legal, Middle Office and other internal teams to improve the quality, accuracy and consistency of fund and investor reporting.
• Work closely with Investor Relations to provide timely and professional responses to ad hoc investor queries and information requests.
• Monitor cash movements and prepare related management reporting and analysis.
• Act as a key point of contact for fund administrators, auditors, tax advisors, and other service providers.
• Assist in the coordination of audit engagements and support tax reporting and compliance processes.
• Provide general fund administration and operational support.

Experience, Skills and Competencies Required

• Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least six months of relevant experience in Private Debt/Direct Lending.
• Part-qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CPA, etc.).

Technical Skills

• Understanding of Luxembourg private debt fund structures and operations.
• Exposure to fund accounting, investor reporting, and cash management.
• Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
• Knowledge of eFront or iLEVEL would be advantageous. • Interest or experience in AI, automation, data analysis or programming would be an advantage.
