As a Java EJB - Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving software and product innovation within our Technology Consulting practice. You will focus on developing innovative software solutions that enhance business performance and drive digital transformation. Your expertise in designing, coding, and testing applications will be crucial in delivering exceptional user experiences that revolutionize industries.

As a Manager, you will lead teams and manage client accounts, focusing on strategic planning and mentoring junior staff. You are accountable for project success and maintaining standards. Enhancing your leadership style, you motivate, develop, and inspire others to deliver quality. You are responsible for coaching, leveraging team members' unique strengths, and managing performance to deliver on client expectations. With your growing knowledge of how business works, you play an important role in identifying opportunities that contribute to the success of our Firm. You are expected to lead with integrity and authenticity, articulating our purpose and values in a meaningful way. You embrace technology and innovation to enhance your delivery and encourage others to do the same.

In this role at PwC Acceleration Center India, you will take ownership of projects, confirming their successful planning, budgeting, execution, and completion. You will partner with team leadership to validate collective ownership of quality, timelines, and deliverables, while effectively mentoring others and addressing conflicts or issues.

Responsibilities

- Leading the development and implementation of innovative software solutions to drive digital transformation
- Managing and mentoring software engineering teams to enhance performance and deliver quality outcomes
- Designing, coding, and testing applications using Java and other programming languages to create exceptional user experiences
- Overseeing the integration of enterprise application architecture and microservices to optimize system performance
- Collaborating with client support teams to address and resolve complex technical challenges
- Utilizing application lifecycle management and continuous integration/delivery practices to streamline development processes
- Conducting code reviews and quality assurance testing to maintain coding standards and software quality
- Identifying opportunities for business process improvement through strategic questioning and analytical thinking
- Encouraging team members to develop skills outside their comfort zones and embrace technology and innovation
- Addressing conflicts and engaging in difficult conversations with stakeholders to maintain project alignment and client satisfaction

What You Must Have

- At least a Bachelor's degree
- At least 8 years of experience
- Oral and written proficiency in English required

What Sets You Apart

- Preference for at least one of the following fields of study: Artificial Intelligence, Business Analytics, Computer and Data Engineering, Computer Science, Human Computer Interaction, Industrial Engineering, Information Systems/Technology, Machine Learning, Management Information Systems, Software Engineering
- Java 8 / J2EE (preference to J2EE rather than Jakarta EE) 

Experience with software design and development, with a focus on Java, Microservices, Springboot,EJB 

Experience with microservices architecture and related technologies. 

Java Spring Boot 

Knowledge of Akka preferred 

MQ (Message Queues) - strong knowledge is needed with IBM MQ preferred 

Application servers with preference to Open Liberty  (other similar application servers like WebSphere or others is sufficient) 

Knowledge of developing solutions with middleware designs is required 

Strong knowledge of system integration and experience with various integration patterns 

Strong knowledge of data mapping and transformation 

BREF (Business Rules Expression Framework) for configurable logic 

Parser/formatter development and extensions (XML/flat/EDI; XSD/XPath; mapping to OPF data model) 

Understanding of containers with preference to Kubernetes 

SQL / JDBC (Java Database Connectivity) - Oracle is preferred 

Hands on experience with Maven for dependency management 

Experience with caching and other performance related Java technologies is preferred 

Understanding of financial applications, especially payment/wires is strongly preferred 

Hands-on experience with DevOps practices and tools 

Knowledge of GIT source repository and branching 

Proficiency with performance tuning is a plus
