As an I&E Construction Manager, Upstream, you will be a key member of the integrated Upstream Facilities Engineering and Construction Team supporting capital project delivery across the Company's Wamsutter assets. This role provides subject matter expertise for instrumentation, electrical, controls, and automation systems while serving as a trusted partner to engineering, operations, and project stakeholders throughout project development and execution. The ideal candidate will bring extensive oil and gas industry experience, strong technical knowledge of I&E systems, excellent communication and planning skills, and the ability to successfully manage multiple priorities in a dynamic field environment.

Responsibilities/Expectations

  • Collaborate closely with facilities engineering during project planning, design reviews, construction kickoff, procurement activities, and execution planning

  • Oversee and manage I&E contractors throughout the project lifecycle from construction kickoff through commissioning and startup

  • Provide field leadership during installation and startup of production facilities, SWDs, compression facilities, automation systems, and pump/pipeline systems

  • Participate in project design reviews with engineering, operations, and contractors to ensure electrical, instrumentation, automation, and control systems are installed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, company standards, and applicable codes and regulations

  • Coordinate daily I&E construction activities between contractors, operations personnel, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure safe, efficient, and timely project execution

  • Lead commissioning, loop checks, function testing, startup activities, and system turnover efforts for instrumentation, electrical, SCADA, PLC, communication, and control systems

  • Review and interpret electrical one-line diagrams, loop drawings, wiring diagrams, panel drawings, control narratives, P&IDs, and construction drawings

  • Verify proper installation, calibration, and functionality of instrumentation and electrical systems including transmitters, flow measurement and equipment, motor controls, power distribution equipment, RTUs, PLCs, communications equipment, and SCADA systems

  • Identify construction issues, technical challenges, and project risks early and work collaboratively with engineering and contractor teams to develop effective solutions

  • Manage and track critical electrical and instrumentation materials and equipment

  • Ensure all work is executed in compliance with company HSE requirements, OSHA regulations, National Electrical Code (NEC), applicable API standards, and industry best practices

  • Identifies opportunities to innovate, improve efficiency, reduce risk, and enhance the way facilities project are designed and delivered

  • Experience developing control narratives and with PLC programming a plus

  • Other duties as assigned

Education/Years of Experience:

  • Required: High School Diploma/GED, a minimum of six (6) years’ related experience and CCM (CMAA) Certification

  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Science or Construction Management

  • Preferred: Six (6) years of progressive experience in oil and gas instrumentation, electrical construction, automation, and contractor management

Physical and Environment Work Requirements:

Must be able to:

  • Work in extreme temperatures, with loud noises and in enclosed spaces

  • Carry or lift items up to 50 lbs and team lift loads of more than 50 lbs as needed

  • Stand, walk, climb, bend, stoop, and squat, often for long periods of time

  • Work at elevated levels, potentially from man lifts, ladders, scaffolding, and/or small towers, with appropriate PPE (Personal Protection Equipment)

  • Use hand tools

Other Requirements:

  • Must possess valid State Driver’s License and clean driving record

  • Exhibits excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills and deems safety an utmost priority

  • Proficiency in HSE compliance and leadership

  • Needs proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Application and PC skills

  • Work in extreme temperatures, with loud noises and in eclosed spaces

  • Wyoming or other cold-weather construction experience preferred
